After 13 years and more than 150 events executed, we are announcing the retirement of soleMOTION Race Management. It has been an incredible journey, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve the running community throughout this time.

We are excited to share that our portfolio of events will be passed on to RunDay Events, operated by James Botnen. James and I have been working together for over two years, and I am confident in the energy, passion, and commitment he brings to the running community. James has also reignited some of the premier events started by Mark Knutson & Mike Almquist. We are happy to see some of Marks legacy events back in operation. I look forward to continuing to support James as he leads these events into the future.

My passion for running began in my teen years and carried through college and beyond. While the 80-mile training weeks eventually took their toll on my knees, slowing me down in later years, my involvement in the running community remains strong. I will continue to stay connected through high school and college track, road races, and through the friendships and partnerships built over decades.

None of this would have been possible without the support of so many:
• Runners, volunteers, sponsors, and organizations who made each event possible.
• Doug Krohn, who has executed many quality events in the Twin Cities area over the past 13 years. Doug and I go back to our track and cross-country days at Minot State University, and I have deeply valued his partnership and friendship.
• My wife, Carole, who has been a constant source of support and, in most cases, the welcoming face of our events at the registration table.
• My four children and their significant others, and numerous friends who have generously stepped in to assist time and again over the years.

As soleMOTION retires, I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who has been part of this journey. The running community is built on passion, dedication, and support, and I am proud to have contributed to it. With RunDay Events and James Botnen at the helm, I am excited to see these races continue to thrive and grow.
