Come join us for an incredible afternoon with Kirsten Neuschäfer, a true trailblazer in the world of sailing! This in-person event will be held at USM's Hannaford Hall, located at 88 Bedford Street, Portland, ME, USA at 1:30 pm Sunday March 3.

Kirsten Neuschäfer won the 2022-2023 Golden Globe Race, a solo, 30,000 mile long, nonstop around the world sailboat race, crossing the finish line first in her 36 foot sailboat after 233 consecutive days at sea. Neuschafer was the only female competing in the race that includes 17 sailors starting and finishing in France. Competitors did so with no outside assistance and no modern technology.

During this event, Kirsten will share her captivating stories of triumph and perseverance. Whether you're an avid sailor or simply intrigued by tales of adventure, this is an afternoon you won't want to miss!

The Casco Bay Fiasco ended with sun and breeze. Thru fog and light wind and contending with tide the boats took off on three different course choices. Congrats to Phoenix for getting a narrow victory over Tamarack. They went started at different marks and went opposite directions. It came down to 4 minutes of corrected time. Well done to all the sailors who came out for this adventure!
