MEET MYRIAH
We asked Myriah what keeps her coming back to yoga and what she’s loving in her practice lately.
What keeps you coming back to yoga?
“For me, it’s what yoga brings into my everyday life. It has taught me to regulate my emotions through breath, to respond rather than react in stressful situations, and to keep Ahimsa at the forefront of how I live.
The Eight Limbs of Yoga offer so much wisdom. Each time I step onto my mat is another opportunity to go deeper, clear my mind, and ultimately show up better for myself and the people around me.”
What are you loving in your practice right now?
“Backbends and heart openers. I’ve been focusing on deep lunges and hip flexor mobility, and it has made such a difference in my backbends and overall back health.
Lately I’m especially enjoying standing backbends, Bhujangasana and Ustrasana, and bringing more of them into both my personal practice and the classes I teach.”
A little glimpse into the practice and heart of Myriah.
Come practice with her at Akasha Movement. Wednesdays at 5:30 PM - Infrared Heated Vinyasa, and a new class: Wednesdays at 7 PM: Candlelight Slow Flow, with hands on assists (optional) and a soft light to bring you to a mid week’s flow state.
