UC San Diego Equestrian Team

We are a student-run horseback riding sports team on the UCSD campus! We are split into an English Team and a Western Team.

The UCSD Equestrian Team is a part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, and our team of roughly 20 co-ed riders competes throughout our fall and winter season to quality for Regionals, Zones, and ultimately Nationals. We compete in Zone 8 Region II, against such schools as USC, UCLA, USD, Pomona College, Cal Poly Pomona, to name a few. Our team is divided into two parts: English and West

ern. Our English riders compete from the Walk Trot division to the Open 3’3 division, and our Western riders ride from Walk Jog to Open Reining. Our home shows are held at such venues as Showpark in Del Mar, Rancho El Camino, and Ride America. The UCSD Equestrian Team has sent riders to nationals every year without fail since our inception. It was an absolute blast as always volunteering with ! We are so grateful for their hospitality every year, and it’s so amazing to hear about all the things they’re doing to change lives through equine assisted therapy. We can’t thank you enough Reins!!

The team had a fantastic weekend at the CPP show with UCSD bringing home High Point Team on Sunday!
A special congratulations to Alexis Azarian and Jordan Green, who tied Reserve for High Point Rider, and to Jordan Green and Gabrielle Shapiro for qualifying for regionals! It was an outstanding show for UCSD, and we’re so proud of everyone’s hard work and accomplishments. Go Tritons!

Five big 💥BOOMs💥 for the ASU show this weekend!

All our riders competed exceptionally this weekend, bringing home so many top ribbons! We have so many highlights to share, but a special shoutout to Gabrielle for taking home first place in Novice the first weekend she has competed in her new higher division! We’re so proud of everyone!
