With the entire Columbia River salmon fishery currently closed and the Brewster sockeye season off the table this July…, you can still get your Fish ON! fix by fishing with me on the Eastside.

Head on over to The Potholes Reservoir and the surrounding waterways, and we will get you hooked up on Bass, Walleye, Crappie, and/or Bluegill.
As the water level continues to drop and the water temperatures warm up, the fishing has really turned on. The topwater bass bite is in full swing, the walleye are biting again, and slab crappie & bluegill season has started. The fishing is only going to get better, as the water continues to fall throughout the month and the fish move into their summer time haunts.

2026 Potholes Reservoir / Moses Lake Fishing Report & Guide Trips 🐟🎣💥
We’re shaping up for another excellent spring fishery across Potholes Reservoir, Moses Lake, and surrounding waters for the May through early July 2026 season!
* Bass fishing has been absolutely phenomenal
* Walleye action has been fair but improving daily—expect it to keep getting better
* Trout fishing has been steady with easy limits

I just wrapped up my 2026 spring steelhead season on the Grande Ronde River, and it was one for the books. I’m not usually one to say “I told you so,” but the dam counts spoke for themselves—steelhead fishing this spring was nothing short of incredible. With great weather and even better company, this turned into the best steelhead run we’ve seen in over a decade. If you missed it this year, I’d love to get you out here next season.
On my boat, 10–30 fish steelhead days were the standard, which made for an unforgettable experience. The run isn’t quite finished yet. If you’re heading out here, with current fishing conditions, be sure to bring floats and drift gear to give yourself the best shot at catching fish. Beads—both hard and soft—have been especially effective lately, with pink, orange, red, and chartreuse, as my favorite colors.
If you’re thinking about sneaking in a trip before the season wraps up in a couple of weeks, check in with Boggan’s Oasis for lodging, meals, shuttles, and the latest fishing reports. Catch y’all on the next one…, FishON!
