Nourishing the Doshas isn't one course — it's four sessions, each built around a different piece of your Ayurvedic cooking toolkit.

Class 1 (Sept 12) grounds you in the 3 doshas and 6 tastes, and how each taste therapeutically balances Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Class 2 (Oct 24) is all Vata — grounding, warming meals that calm the nervous system and support those working with anxiety, insomnia, or digestive irregularity.
Class 3 (Nov 7) turns to Pitta — cooling, anti-inflammatory cooking for inflammation, anger, or perfectionist tendencies.
And Class 4 (Nov 21) closes with Kapha — stimulating spices and light techniques to support metabolism, motivation, and emotional balance for those experiencing lethargy or low mood.

Take one class or the whole series — either way, you'll leave with recipes you'll actually use.

Imagine spending an afternoon in the kitchen with our own Ayurvedic chef, Aria Peterman — learning not just the theory, but cooking two or three therapeutic recipes with your own hands, session after session.

That's Nourishing the Doshas: four 2.5-hour interactive online workshops blending ancient wisdom with real culinary skill. You'll leave with a digital recipe book, a full year of access to the recordings, and — for those completing the series — 10 hours of IAYT Approved Professional Development.

Whether you're a yoga therapist, a wellness practitioner, or simply craving a deeper relationship with food, there's a seat here for you. Early bird pricing runs through August 31. Starts September 12: https://essentialyogatherapy.com/nourishingthedoshas

Scroll through a Foundations residency on Whidbey Island: the ferry crossing that starts the slow-down, quiet forest trails between sessions, mirror-still mornings for reflection, and meals prepared by our Ayurvedic chef, Aria Peterman. Robin built this program around real community — sangha — not just coursework.

Robin Rothenberg, C-IAYT, Director of EYT, has spent over 25 years training yoga teachers and therapists. She co-authored a landmark yoga research study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, wrote Restoring Prana, and leads one of only 70 IAYT-accredited yoga therapy schools in the world.

As she shared with our community recently, "We have an amazing group ready to launch into their 3.5-year journey and become the next generation of yoga therapists."

This fall, she's teaching Foundations of Yoga Therapy — a chance to learn directly from someone who has helped shape this field.

Most yoga teachers are doing their best to support students with back pain…
but without deeper training, it’s easy to miss what’s really going on.

Low back pain isn’t just anatomy.
It’s breath, pelvic stability, nervous system patterns, and how it all works together—in this body, not a generic one.

In the Essential Low Back Program, we spend five full days exploring how to truly assess and understand the lower back in a three-dimensional, real-world way. Through observation, hands-on practice, and case-based learning, you begin to see what’s often overlooked.

And here’s the honest part:
Many practitioners discover that their own pain—or their students’ pain—is coming from what’s happening in their yoga practice itself.

This training changes that.

July 6–12, 2026
A 6-day immersive experience designed to help you teach with clarity, confidence, and real therapeutic impact.
