Sorry for the lack of posts and reports. Life is very busy right now to say the least. I have a lot going on between 2 small businesses and taking a maintenance job at a local college. With that being said, I could only charter weekends on Lake Ontario and the Salmon bite was better than we have seen in a long time! The next few years should be a great fishery with plenty of different age classes of fish. My first weekend up there started off hot and heavy- and then I played mechanic the rest of the time.. not fun so I hauled the boat all the way home. The boys helped me get her back in shape and running great. The next two weekends were just a bloodbath. I apologize for no meat racks or pictures of customers, but everyone fishing on the Dog were long repeat customers and said, “we have plenty of pictures of dead fish Tony” 😂

We start walleye in two weeks. With my new job at the college, I work second shift Monday through Friday. I will be running every morning during the week and doubles on the weekends. If you have a trip during the week in the afternoon do not worry I will take a vacation day. I’m excited to see what 2026 brings as every propulsion system on the boat is brand new. Breaking down that first weekend was a fluke with carb issues and electric fuel pump- nothing major. The old girl’s gonna get a manicure and she will be in tiptop shape in two weeks!!

This fall/winter has been extremely stressful to say the least. Dealing with insurance for months and finally getting the boats propulsion systems up and new has been a huge task. Big big thanks to Capt Chris Rhoades he’s got 100’s of hours in building the drive and ordering all the parts and researching everything. Also I wanna thank Tom Harrington for assisting in a lot of the projects. He put in a ton of time as well. I am forever in debt to you guys and can’t thank you enough for keeping the dream alive. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you you guys!! Upgrades- a 20hp kicker on the back a huge upgrade esp with fuel prices. Rebuilt a new outdrive and we also replaces the drive shaft. Lots and lots of money & time. I also wanna thank my customers who graciously deposited larger amount towards their trip to make this all happen. Thank you everyone who was involved!!

We will be fishing this weekend! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and getting back on the water 🛥️ 🎣 ☠️

Very stiff SSW winds made for a one way slide for repeat offender Walt and Jimmy. We did a north troll slightly angled and caught fish the whole time. Even got my share for my family. Thank you Walt, it’s always a pleasure having you aboard!

Guys- the fish are not leaving any time soon and weekends are almost full for 2025. Take advantage of some deep chunky walleyes and the steelhead will start stacking up anytime soon as well! If the weather is nice, the fishing can be some of the best of the season. I’d like to fill up September and keep the boat running 7 days a week. If you book and the fishing gets slow then we will rebook any remaining charters for 2026 or return your deposit. We have limited every walleye trip this season and strive to keep up the 100% success rate while putting you on the best bite.

If you have a trip with us anytime between now and this Saturday, you will more than likely be getting a phone call as the weather is going to be unsafe. We were definitely due for some bad lake conditions at this point. Thank you all for keeping the dream alive in the meantime and feel free to share!

With some rough rough weather coming, I moved a couple trips around and banged out a triple charter today!! I have converted to Amish, finally got my hat 😂  it’s like a pilot getting his wings! But seriously, thank you guys for the awesome hat and thank you to everyone who fished with me today. We made it happen and a lot of fish went to heaven 💪

We had Ashley’s family/group for round 2 and it was their first time aboard the Doghouse. Fishing was excellent and non stop. Their son managed to land two adult big walleye, good job young man!! The NE winds picked up pretty good and it seemed like the eater sized fish were on the chomp pretty hard. It was hard to keep the rods in the water when your walleye spread is literally attacked by fish. Awesome trip all around and it really makes my day having kids on the boat. These two young men watched the fishing poles like hawks and were ready to reel!Can’t wait to have you all back, thank you for booking with us 🛥️ 🎣 ☀️

You guessed it … another big delay 🌊 It didn’t matter though because it was a slaughter fest out there! First trip Eric and myself hit the lake with Josh and the boys. With a little bit of monkeying around with the auto pilot, we were back out in the killing fields and stuffed the coffin to max. After some negotiating and getting some sandwiches off the boys, we were ready for round two 💪 thanks again, guys, those were some really fun trips on the water. Next we had the pleasure of fishing with Craig and their family from Cambridge Springs. We ran a small spread and this young man was a big fish catching machine!! Such a fun day on the water, hope to see both gangs back in the future
