Hi Friends!
Danielle and Rivett here reporting on our first official wintery hike of the year!
We explored the McCoord Woods via the Crescent Trail for the first time and we loved it!
The trail head was difficult to find, we parked in a church parking lot, and the sign and the start of the trail was hiding behind a dumpster!
The trail itself is great! It was quiet, snowy and surprisingly steep! There was quite a bit of elevation gain in a short distance, which made it challenging, but doable. The snow did make it tricky being the first time through this park, and slippery on the descents at points, but overall it was a great adventure!
There was a little bit of backyard hiking to get to the main loop. The trails are very well marked, but I would recommend downloading a trail map at first, to to have an idea of where the trails head, as there are lots of entrances to the main loop.
