Hitting with your dad in the backyard versus hitting with us, there's different things that go on.

I hear it all the time, a lot of kids just don't listen to their parents, especially in the cage. All of our athletes played college baseball and went on to coach, so we can figure out the specific details that improve their mechanics and their swing.

I'm not telling you to stop hitting in the backyard, but if you want to take your game to the next level it's always good to get some professional advice.

Ever notice your kid hitting line drives into the bottom of the net?

That's a good indicator they need to build up some strength and power. Pair that with our strength training and instead of weak line drives, you're going to see that ball get hit a lot harder into the upper half of the cage.

That's why we love pairing strength training with our hitting program, so kids get the full effects.

Three benefits of small group hitting with one coach.

Our ratio is four to one, so every kid gets individual attention in the cage plus drills outside of it to work on their mechanics, their feet placement, and their hips. Each kid also gets specific drills from that coach to improve their swing, and hitting in that four to one ratio saves you money.

If you believe one on one hitting or pitching is best for your kid, we still offer that here at PTL Fitness.

Brady has gained 8 lbs in just 7 weeks with us, with half of that being muscle mass — right on target! 💪

We’re extremely excited about the progress he’s making in the gym and can’t wait to see how much more he grows throughout the offseason.

The work is paying off. Keep it rolling, Brady! 🔥

This is what the first session with us actually looks like.

We sit down and go through your goals, then run your InBody scan and a functional movement assessment. AJ came in wanting to gain strength and lose some body fat, and said what he needed most was accountability and consistency.

After going through all of it we set him up with personal training, and he wanted to start that same day.

If all you're doing is playing games and you've realized you're not performing any better on the field, get in the gym and work the muscle groups behind it.

Med ball throws, jumping, squats, single leg exercises, shoulder care, hip care, running mechanics, all of it translates back onto the field, where you'll outperform your competitors.

Shoulder care for baseball and softball players, you can do this every other day. It's what builds strength through your back and prevents injuries.

Banded pull-aparts (we like taking our athletes thumbs-up and behind to get the shoulders back), external rotations at 90 degrees held for two seconds, YTWs, face pulls with a heavier band held for three seconds to really engage the scap, internal and external rotations, and A's — add a snow angel if you want.

It preps you for your game and helps with recovery. Keep that shoulder strong.

College coaches start with the metrics: your 10-yard sprint for acceleration, your 60, and Rapsodo numbers like exit velocity, arm velocity, and spin rate. Those same numbers are a great tool for correcting mechanics and the way you're swinging the bat.

The part nobody talks about is your hustle on and off the field, your attitude, your body language, and how you present yourself to those coaches, professional and friendly.

Have the metrics and carry yourself well, and that's what separates you from the rest.

Running a business with three kids keeps me stressed out, and my shoulders stay tight because of it. This is what I did the other day, and it actually helped.

Put a ball where your shoulder blade is, find the spot that's tight and a little painful, and breathe there for 30 to 60 seconds — up to 90 if you need it. Then find the spot underneath your armpit, near the rotator cuff, and sit right on it until it releases.

Two to three times a week. It takes the shoulder pain out and puts your mind in a relaxed state too.

Austin Greenfield came to us 4 weeks ago with the goal of getting stronger, becoming more explosive, and working his way up to 185 lbs.

He’s been putting in the work 3x per week and staying consistent with his nutrition plan—and we’re already seeing the results.

In just 4 weeks, Austin is up 7.1 lbs, with muscle mass increasing and body fat trending in the right direction. 💪

This is what happens when you have a plan, stay consistent, and put in the work.

We’re only 4 weeks in. I’m excited to see where he’s at after 12 weeks of training with us.

Keep working!
