🥋 ⭐️ Student Highlight: ELON ⭐️ 🥋

Today we are shining a spotlight 🔦 on one of our younger students, Elon 💙 💛

Elon has been part of the Mountaineer Elite familiar for 2 years and yesterday he reached a BIG milestone in earning his yellow belt 🎉

That belt represents so much more than a new color. It represents the time, effort, discipline, and determination he has put into his karate 🥋 journey. And we couldn’t be more proud ❤️

One of Elon’s favorite parts of karate is the friendships he’s making- friendships that will last a lifetime because at Mountaineer Elite we are building a family 💙 💛

When he’s not training, Elon is busy being a kid! He loves Spider-man, Legos, and Pokeman ⚡️ He is a proud 1st-grade homeschooler who loves to learn and read 📚

His favorite karate memory so far? Competing at Wars 7 earlier this year 🏆 🔥 where he represented Mountaineer Elite well!

Elon we are SO proud of you! We can’t wait to see where your karate journey takes you 🥋

We were excited to have an awesome night of sparring, to learn from one another and most importantly have FUN 🤩 doing what we love!

Karate is not just about competition. It’s about building confidence, making friends, learning to respect your opponent, and helping each other become BETTER ❤️

🥋 🌟 Student Highlight: LOGAN🌟 🥋

With just 3 1/2 years karate experience, and a blue belt with black stripe to show for it, Logan’s short journey with karate so far has been impressive 💪🏻

Over the past year, Logan became a WKC national qualifier for forms and traveled to Michigan where he competed with the best in the country. Falling short of making it to worlds 🌍 this year, he’s already working hard for 2027 💥

When he isn’t at the dojo, you’ll find Logan practicing his saxophone 🎷 for school band, building legos, or playing video games 🎮

What’s Logan’s favorite part of his karate journey so far? The friends he is making at the dojo that are more like family these days💙 💛

Logan, we are incredibly proud of the warrior you have become, the dedication you’ve shown, and the potential we know is still ahead of you ❤️

Mountaineer Elite Martial Arts would like to extend our deepest condolences to Bill Viola, his family, and everyone at their dojo on the heartbreaking loss of Michael Pietrzy

We lost an amazing person, and our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

There is so much more to martial arts than tournaments, trophies, and titles. It’s about the friendships we build, the memories we create, and the incredible people we meet along the way.

Michael was truly one of the kindest people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. His warmth, kindness, and the way he treated others will not be forgotten.

Our hearts are broken for his family and his dojo. Please know that your martial arts family here at Mountaineer Elite is standing with you, thinking of you, and praying for you during this incredibly difficult time.

The Open Black Belt Kumite Division is officially coming to the Mountain State Open!
We’re throwing down the gauntlet to find out who truly runs the mats. If you’re 17+, hold a black belt, and think your timing, speed, and grit can outlast the best in the region, this is your proving ground.

The Prize: The Mountain State Open Championship Belt.
The Division: Open Black Belt Kumite (all point fighters welcome).
Eligibility: Ages 17 & up.
The Mission: Leave everything on the tatami and take home the gold.

No soft rounds. No excuses. Just high-level striking, electric energy, and one undisputed champion walking away with the belt wrapped around their waist.

🥋 ⚾️ 🏊 Think your kiddo is too busy for karate? Think again!

Meet ELI 🥊 🔥 🔥

This kid is proof that you don’t have to choose just ONE sport! 💪🏻

Eli is a green belt with black stripe at Mountaineer Elite, a straight A 4th grader at Big Elm, a baseball player with Shinnston Little League, AND a summer swimmer with the Shinnston Sharks 🦈

And somehow, in between it all, Eli continues to show up on the dojo floor, work hard, grow, and keep pushing himself in karate 🥋 🔥

His favorite karate memory so far is competing at Danger in the Den with Wolf Pack Martial Arts

🥋 Student Highlight: HENRY! 🥋

Meet Henry! 💙 💛

Henry joined the Mountaineer Elite Dojo in March, and in just a few short months, he’s already made new friends, learned so much, and taken on an exciting new challenge— his very first karate tournament 🏆 🥋

Now heading into 2nd grade, Henry stays busy enjoying all the things he loves outside the dojo, including playing outside, building with Legos, and playing Pokeman! 🎮

We are so proud of Henry for stepping onto the tournament floor for the very first time, showing courage, and embracing the experience! We can’t wait to see where his karate journey takes him next! 🥊
