Join us on Friday, October 2 for the Fairmont State Hall of Fame Dinner. We shared previously that the 1985-86 Men's Swim Team would be recognized, but we are pleased to also share that Michael "Gray" Balog will be inducted into the Falcon Hall of Fame during the event. Balog was a 17-time All-American, who finished runner-up in back-to-back events at the 1994 NAIA Championships while setting school records in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. The records lasted 11 and 22 years, respectively.

We have a BIG Homecoming Weekend coming up in one month!

On Thursday, our women’s team takes on Marshall, there is an Alumni Social, Homecoming Parade, and Thursday Night Lights.

Friday, we celebrate a pair of outstanding alums at the Alumni Award Luncheon*, hold open swim practice, and then celebrate one of our best teams and one of our top swimmers in history at the Hall of Fame Ceremony*.

On Saturday, we welcome our swimmers and swammers for a Varsity/Alumni meet, and will have a great tailgate among friends in the White Lot.

The weekend finishes down the road in Bridgeport with West Virginia’s DII, DIII, and NAIA teams at the WV Small College State Games on Sunday.

The weekend is JAM-PACKED and we look forward to welcoming Falcons far and wide for Homecoming. Meet us on the Hill!

Recent graduate and current doctoral student, Marra Johnson has a busy week ahead as the 47th Annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival kicks off in Clarksburg, W.Va. The former Falcon Golf and Swimming standout was named Queen Regina Maria XLVII in April and will preside over the festivities during the Labor Day weekend event and serve as the cultural ambassador for the festival throughout the upcoming year.

Please join us in congratulating Marra as she heads into coronation on Friday to represent her family, community, and Italian-American heritage. Her great-great-grandparents, Frank and Mary Marra immigrated to the United States from San Giovanni in Fiore, Calabria, Italy, and the Italian traditions and heritage were passed down to her through her great-grandparents, Louis and Helen Marra, to her grandparents Karen (Marra) and the late Michael Rieser, and to her parents, Rick and Dee Johnson. She is a great representation of all of these individuals, and grandparents Rosemary and the late Michael Corder.
