Falls Athletics 12U Outslug Roxborough Rebels Blue 12U in 13-10 Victory, Clinch Playoff Berth
Falls Athletics 12U closed out their Suburban League regular season in style on Sunday, collecting 11 hits and scoring 13 runs in an exciting 13-10 victory over Roxborough Rebels Blue 12U. With the win, Falls finished the Suburban season with a strong 6-7-1 record and earned a spot in the upcoming playoffs.
After falling behind early, Falls responded with their biggest offensive inning of the game in the bottom of the second. The Athletics exploded for nine runs, turning a deficit into a commanding lead they would never relinquish. The rally was fueled by patient at-bats, aggressive baserunning, and timely hitting throughout the lineup, highlighted by a clutch RBI single from Justin Yaeger following a six-pitch battle.
The offense was led by several standout performances. Lucas Esposito continued his hot hitting, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a double. Justin Yaeger delivered one of his best all-around games of the season, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a double, and a team-high three TB.
Griffin Phillips was a force at the top of the lineup, reaching base four times while going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two walks. Liam Kabana added another multi-hit effort, finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Brayden Klimowicz contributed in every phase of the game, scoring twice, driving in a run, collecting a double, and drawing two walks.
Falls showed tremendous discipline at the plate, drawing eight walks as a team. Griffin Phillips and Brayden Klimowicz each earned two free passes, helping keep pressure on the defense throughout the game.
The contributions continued throughout the lineup. Dominic Paleafico drove in two runs and added a sacrifice fly, Jacob Howell scored a run and drove in another, Jacob Micklas singled, scored, and drew a walk, Jimmy Riley contributed a hit, run scored, RBI, and stolen base, and Michael Thomas added an RBI.
The Athletics were aggressive on the bases all afternoon. Dominic Paleafico, Jimmy Riley, and Lucas Esposito each recorded stolen bases, while the lineup piled up extra-base hits. Falls collected three doubles from Brayden Klimowicz, Justin Yaeger, and Lucas Esposito.
On the mound, Jacob Micklas got the start and provided two solid innings, allowing just two runs while striking out three without issuing a walk. Brayden Klimowicz, Griffin Phillips, and Liam Kabana each came on in relief to help secure the victory and close out the regular season with a win.
The victory was a fitting example of what has made this team successful all season.. contributions from top to bottom in the lineup, patient at-bats, aggressive baserunning, and players stepping up in key moments. Every player found a way to contribute as Falls Athletics 12U finished the Suburban League season at 6-7-1 and now turns its focus toward the playoffs, carrying momentum and confidence into the postseason.
