It’s been a long year. It started off on a decent note fishing the Bass Nation Kayak Series championship on Russel Lake, then the Bass Nation Kayak Series tournament on Grand Lake, then what felt like an eternal break before fishing another tournament here in my new home state of Florida in the . Between an unexpected job change, life has been hectic and time on the water has been less than desired. Yesterday was stop #2 on the Clermont Chain of Lakes for this series and I was able to get a little more prepared with practice. Definitely hoping to keep a little momentum going into 2023. It felt good to cash a check and catch a respectable limit finishing in 2nd place. I didn’t get any pictures of a few of the new products I’m using from but I will have those soon.

Fishing in Oklahoma last week was fun but Florida bass just hit different. I’ve never wished more in my life that I had a scale to see what my best 5 would have gone for. Just a little photo dump from the kayak series tournament on . It was my first trip back to since moving to Florida last July. The tournament fished tough with the weather being cold, windy, and having intermittent rain. I may have ended up finishing 20th but where I was a winner was getting to spend time with my friends and family. A big shout out to for letting me stay at his lake house. It was also amazing to see who has helped me become the angler that I am. Both of the guys came through in helping met a PA12 to fish out of for this tournament and a variety of rods to use These guys are true ambassadors of the sport. Congratulations on cashing your first check of many to come from BASS in the kayak series. It was also great getting to see and his new Ike edition PA14 360. Since moving to Florida, so many things have fallen into place. One of which I’m excited to now announce is being added to the team, which would not have been possible without /Dolphin paddle sports. This is an amazing opportunity and something I never thought would happen. God has definitely blessed me and my wife in this journey. I’d also like to give a shoutout for hooking me up with some amazingly comfortable shirts and hats. Having sponsors like and are important when you’re a tournament fisherman but to have the support from the love of your life at home is the most important thing. I know I wouldn’t be where I am without having my wife by my side. I’ve fished so many tournaments now and Shelly has made sure I’ve had support every step along the way. Every day I’m gone, she’s prepared a card to pick me up and keep me going. I know for a fact I would still be competing without her.

We had a great time Saturday at the kayak demo day with and Dolphin Paddle sports. They have the best selection of kayaks in Southwest Florida. We’ll be doing demos every Saturday starting around 9am. Give the store a call @ 941-922-9671 to schedule your spot.

Final results came in yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a big enough move to walk across the stage. I do feel accomplished in have caught a limit each day and finishing in the top 25 of the 2022 kayak series national championship. It was an honor to fish with some of the best kayak anglers in the nation for the second year in a row. Now to find a way back! I really want one of the blue trophies. I give thanks to God for giving me the strength and patience to find the ones I did. Also, my beautiful and amazing wife who’s always my #1 cheerleader and supporter. If it hadn’t been for her I would have given up a long time ago. And thank you also to everyone who messaged or text, knowing I had people following both in Oklahoma and Florida was awesome. I’ll keep grinding and hopefully one day my time will come.

Day 1 is in the books of the Kayak Series Championship. Sitting in 26th place with 80”. Managed to get a few culls mid day to help out. I need a solid day tomorrow to try to cash a check. Shout out to bassmaster.com for some of the on the water shots.
