Congrats to Christina Birchfield, our Member of the Month!
There’s a version of fitness that looks like perfect attendance, clean movement, and no setbacks.
Christina Birchfield’s story looks nothing like that — and that’s exactly why it matters more.
Over the past year, Christina has navigated a shoulder injury, an ankle injury, and ongoing balance challenges that would give most people a convincing reason to stay home. She hasn’t. She shows up — even on days when the workout requires a full modification, even when class is large and the room feels loud, even when “progress” means a short step-up to a box instead of the thing everyone else is doing. That’s not stubbornness. That’s commitment to something bigger than any single workout.
And, what coaches notice most about Christina isn’t just her consistency through pain, it’s her willingness to trust the process even when she can’t see the finish line. She comes in knowing that a good workout might look completely different from what’s written on the board. She doesn’t resist that. She works with it.
Lately, there’s been something else worth calling out: she’s been coming out of her shell. For someone who has been very quiet and reserved, walking into a packed class takes real courage. She does it anyway. And the community she’s showing up for is showing up right back.
She’s back to testing her ankle again, being cautious, smart, and making incremental improvements with short jogs, light step-ups, and more. It’s the kind of slow return that requires more patience than almost any workout.
We’re proud of you, Christina. Not because you never missed a class. Because you never gave up on yourself.
