We are proud to announce that on August 6, 2026, Professor Mikael Meyer was elevated to the rank of 10th-Degree Black Belt (Soke) in Concord, New Hampshire. Achieving one of martial arts' highest honors, he has spent 3 decades carrying forward the legacy of his mentor, Grandmaster Steve DeMasco, through his guidance and development of generations of SDSS students. This milestone underscores his unwavering commitment to sustaining the values and teachings of the SDSS tradition, ensuring they endure for future generations. Not only is he an excellent martial artist, but Nicholas also is also a part of our Teen Leadership Development Program, helping in our kids classes and camps. He has worked hard both in and out of the dojo, and we couldn’t be more proud of him for this accomplishment!
