The biggest issue people have with losing weight is staying consistent on the weekends. Going out to eat, family/friend get togethers, alcohol, sweets, the list goes on.

“I’ll start on Monday” 😂 heard that before…

Proper breathing through Strength & Conditioning has been a passion of mine for 10 years .

The shocking thing about this is that no-one teaches it. Whenever I meet people in the gym and talk about it, it’s like I was born with two heads…
Which is not far off the truth😁

Once the principles are implemented though ….You see a lightbulb going off in people as they can now breath and sustain efforts deep in conditioning sessions .

My Daily Deep work ( first thing in AM 15-30 mins ) is to bring to life a course about breathing in Strength ( Tension) and Conditioning ( Rhythm & Flow).

This is the first of many tutorials I am to bring to life to help you all understand and implement Tension Training under the barbell and Rhythm and Flow work done under the pump on the Dancefloor.

Preparing To Fail.

Traveling or vacations are a trying time for sure, but they are not excuses to let your hard work at home be derailed.

Three of our students in the FitOver40Formula travelled in the last couple of weeks ( Steve to Ireland, Steve to Cape Cod , Mona to California) and before they left, we had a coaching call to layer the plan for success.

The Golden nugget for success in any travel where you are changing time zones and/or long ass road travel is to avoid Carbs like the plague until the last meal of the day, where you can eat a high glycemic carb to send you off nicely to sleep and get on destinations time zones .

The mistake people make is not planning food for travel and eating whatever is given to you, normally carb heavy processed junk .. which makes you tired and sleepy and in a state of an inflammatory hell roller coaster which ya never get off of for 7-14 days of whatever trip your on .

When you get back home from your trip your 5-10 heavier, emotionally drained and want to jump off a cliff.

Preparing To Fail.

Traveling or vacations are a trying time for sure, but they are not excuses to let your hard work at home be derailed.

This old rooster , used to go on away trips to Rugby League games in the South of France with my George Foreman Grill and chicken breasts in a cooler.

I refused to eat the meals given to me from the team because I knew it wasn’t gonna help me perform .

I’m about a dozen trips in flying to Australia from NYC with another coming up at Christmas .

Success formula = ZERO carbs day of trip through 11.30pm at night .. with only carbs for all 15 hours of flight the carb heavy meal upon boarding before getting some Sleep.

Once arriving in Sydney at 6.30am, as tired as you are , it’s zero sleep all day with no carbs during the day, till night time with Ice cream advised here to aid dropping off to sleep.

We all need a plan…without one .. your pi***ng in the wind.

There is nothing like competition to warm the soul and get ya heart pumping.

When a Competition/Race is on the radar, I am all in .

Sleep is dialed , nutrition choices are dialed, training is on point ..all because I have a target, an aim , a plan.

I believe that competition is the essence of life.

It's mentally and physically hard, always rewarding and quite often humbling.. not unlike life.

I believe, we as humans should be challenged in competition occasionally, to be tested under the pump, to see what's under the hood.

It matters not what it is, but it should illicit that feeling in the belly, that excitement of the challenge ahead.

I signed up a few days ago to run the Local Fairfield Police Sunset 5K... and the weather forecast for this evening is hot, not unlike the last race I ran, a full year ago...The 2021 CrossFit Games. Hot and Humid... Love it!

While my fitness is not as good as the primed racehorse from last year, and I am ok with that in my eyes there is only one place to start ...It's at the front. Even writing that statement , brings the excitement, the energy.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT!

If you sign up for anything and rock up to the event , with a ton of people you don't know and some guy gets up on his high horse and starts proceedings with a gun...
