THIRD ANNUAL FUNDRAISER BENEFITTING PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH AND AWARENESS
Blue Walnut Golf TN hosted its third annual fundraiser to benefit prostate cancer research on July 28, 2023 at the Heatherhurst-Brae golf course in Fairfield Glade. Our mission is to increase the awareness of prostate cancer screening and early detection, to provide funds for essential research and to assist those in their fight with cancer through local support. Profits will be presented to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and the CMC Cancer Patient Fund.
Ninety golfers, men and women, enjoyed a day of golf, skill prize awards and raffle prizes. I would like to thank all the players for their support of this cause. The Business Community support was inspirational again this year. We realize that volunteerism and donations are in abundance in Crossville and there are many choices that companies, both large and small, need to make within their budgetary constraints. We sincerely appreciate those companies that choose to support this event and our mission.
Cumberland Medical Center, through MEDIC Blood Center, will be providing free PSA screenings at a blood drive scheduled for September 24, 2025 at the Fairfield Glade Square. Any male in their forties should be screened for prostate cancer, so please take advantage of this opportunity. A hearty round of applause to CMC and MEDIC for their support of our mission and the expansion of the screenings to reach the entire Cumberland County community.
“Blue Ribbon Golf” Tournaments are created by people who love the game and want to raise awareness of early screening, raise valuable funds for much-needed research as well as provide fun and a chance to win some nice prizes. Blue Walnut Golf TN was created to assist in this mission. We want to thank the PROSTATE CANCER FOUNDATION, VANDERBILT-INGRAM CANCER CENTER and COVENANT HEALTH for their support in providing collateral and awareness materials. Their support of events like ours shows their commitment to spread the word that, if discovered early, prostate cancer is treatable. Thank you for your amazing support.
If you wish to support our mission it is never to late make a direct donation. While the event is for one day, the fight to find a cure for prostate cancer, or any cancer, is never ending. For additional information on The Prostate Cancer Foundation and their mission, or to make a donation in honor of Blue Walnut Golf TN please go to pcf.org.
We are already looking forward to our Fourth Annual Event and that date has been set for July 27, 2025 so mark your calendars and plan on joining us. For any questions regarding this Blue Walnut Golf TN mission contact Gerard Pacini at 312.203.3245 or e-mail at [email protected].
