Phoenix
Perfect pony near Fairfax, MN. We're looking for the best home ever for a once-in-a-lifetime pony. Phoenix is a bay, grade, half Arabian pony mare standing 13.3H. When we bought her, we were told Phoenix was born about 2002, but our vet said that she's YOUNGER than we were told, and only in her late teens now, according to her teeth.
Phoenix has been successful in endurance riding and calm trail rides as well as lessons. She's happiest taking care of little riders in the arena, and is a fantastic therapy pony. She's sturdy enough for a lighter adult, and is a nice size for walking next to her to monitor a tiny rider. Gentle and safe. Phoenix might be more excited about trail riding if she were shod. We try to keep our horses barefoot, and her feet have slowly improved, but she is still sore on gravel after a trim.
This pony is lower in the pecking order. She ties great, loads easy, is good for the farrier and vet; she isn't spooky, and has been ponied.
Phoenix cannot be on pasture, and does best on lower-sugar hay. (i.e., the not-so-great colorless stuff). No grain needed, except to give her the supplement, “Remission”. She is up to date on deworming, dental, hooves, vaccinations, and coggins.
We will be very fussy about where Phoenix lands. The only reason we're considering this is because our little rider wants to go faster than Phoenix does. Re-homing fee Fifteenzerozero . If you're seriously interested, please pm me for a phone number so we can talk.
