Registration for cross country will open in early July. A new registration system is being put into place and that is taking extra time. Please review comments on the "Update" link on the running portion of the FPYC website before you register your child.

It is with sadness in our hearts that we share the news of the passing of Coach Dereck Barnes on June 2, 2022. Dereck was a former coach with FPYC working primarily with sprinters but also helped with distance and long jump. Funeral services will take place at Herring Funeral & Cremations in Fayetteville, NC on June 11th. Please keep his wife, Takako, and daughters, Aiko and Aoi, in your thoughts and prayers. We are less than 2 weeks from the start of our fall 2021 cross country season. From the registration , many people are looking to get back out there and run. A general team email re: the season has been sent out weekly for the last few weeks. It is being sent on Sundays. If you registered after this past Sunday, you will get the email next Sunday. Additional emails will be sent early next week re: our pre-season number pick-up option on the 28th and the first day of practice on the 29th. We hope to see many at the Saturday event at the Providence Park Clubhouse. Please email the directors at [email protected] with questions. That is the most direct way to contact us.

Congratulations to our four FPYC athletes who competed in the USATF Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Championships that are taking place this week in Jacksonville, FL. They participated in the 100m, 200m, long jump, shot put, and turbo-javelin. Three athletes achieved All-American status, finishing in the top 8 in their event. Congrats to:
Simone Beyers 8U Long Jump 4th place
Mason Brown 8U Shot Put 7th place
Mark Brown 9-10 Shot Put 6th place

Our spring track and field season is now complete. Registration for the 2021 cross country season is open and available on the FPYC website.
