Shayna Bergman Coaching, LLC I partner with parents in leadership positions to uncover their true potential

In the beginning of 2026, my dog ate an entire bottle of Motrin. She’s fine. My work week was not.
Then the stomach flu moved through my house. Doctor visits. Cancelled plans. Zero predictability.
And I still worked! Just not in one clean block. In windows.
There’s a name for this: microshifting. Breaking the day into flexible pieces instead of forcing one long stretch. Parents have been living this for years, but we’re just finally getting language for it.
The leaders who trust their people to manage energy instead of monitoring hours? They’re the ones actually building something sustainable.
If you’re navigating all of this solo and want backup, whether that’s 1:1 or a community of people juggling the exact same thing, DM me “let’s talk.” I’ll find time for us.

You checked every box. Title. Salary. Respect.
And you’re still sitting there wondering if this is it.
I spent almost 20 years in corporate leadership before I made the leap into coaching. From the outside it looked like I had it made. From the inside I was changing my son’s diapers, home schooling my daughter, and running a team through a pandemic, all while asking myself if I was even in the right seat.
A pivot only happens two ways. Either the pain gets loud enough that you can’t look away. Or you give yourself permission to ask the question before it does.
I sat down on The Legal Department podcast to talk about how I made that call, the values work I use with my clients, and why working parents carry a weight nobody prepared them for.
What’s the question you keep avoiding asking yourself about your career? 👇

You don’t need to do more. You need to let something go.
I say this to my leaders who are parents ALL the time. I know you’re not lazy! You’re exhausted because you’re carrying things out of guilt, habit, or fear that if you don’t do it, no one will.
This week try this. Pick ONE thing cluttering your calendar or your mind. Not something to improve. Something to release. Channel your inner Elsa and LET. IT. GO!

What’s one thing you’re ready to let go of this quarter?👇

Well, this is fun! I found out today I was featured in Real Simple magazine for an article on ”5 Habits You Think Are Helping You - But Are Actually Draining You.”

Who needs Forbes when you can land in a mag you and your audience actually read!?😛

In all seriousness, it was fun to be part of this article. Now go read it! Article link in bio❤️

I know you’re working so hard, juggling so many things that you barely have time to do anything for yourself. Everyone needs you and you take pride in showing up for everyone. I get it. I’m similar! But today, I’m taking some time out of my already busy morning to get my yearly mammogram. Whether it’s a symptom you’re ignoring, a check-up you’ve been delaying, or simply just stopping to check in with your body, this commitment is critical. When you’re moving so quickly, it’s easy to miss what your own body may be telling you! You owe it to yourself, your family, your business, your team, your community, and countless others to be at your best, and your healthiest. What is one step you can take today to take 👏 care 👏 of 👏 YOU?👏

You cannot pour from an empty cup and still show up the way you’re meant to. I say this because I’ve lived it. The “I’m fine” when I wasn’t. The favor I said yes to when my body was screaming no. And I see it in my clients in almost every conversation. Y’all (yep - I’m still a Georgia girl at heart), taking care of yourself is NOT selfish. It’s protective. It’s what keeps you able to keep showing up for the people who rely on you. So be honest - when is the last time you RESTED or TOOK CARE OF YOURSELF before you were forced to?

The beta mom trend is all over TikTok and The Wall Street Journal.

But actually, isn't just a mom thing.
Dads are burned out, too! Parents in leadership are running on fumes while trying to look like they have it together at work AND at home. The pressure to optimize every corner of your life is relentless and it's coming from everywhere.

Going "beta" doesn't mean checked out. It means intentional. It means getting clear on what actually matters and releasing your death grip on the rest.

I wrote about why this trend resonates, what it gets right, and why balance still isn't the answer.

The pressure to optimize every corner of your life is coming from everywhere and I know you’re feeling it.

A perfect life isn’t the goal! But a fearless one - YES! My clients think perfection is the safe and “right” choice. But really? It’s fear. Fear of messing up. Fear of judgment. Fear of losing control. So you over-prepare, overthink, overwork and UNDER LIVE! Being fearless doesn’t mean the fear is gone. It just means it’s no longer in the driver’s seat. What’s one imperfect thing you’ll do today before you’re “ready”? Mine down below.
