This is a sad announcement Thea and I have to make. Many people know, but others do not, as I keep getting contacted. We have ran and conducted hunts at American Adventures Ranch for 21 years. It was a fun and wonderful journey. I have made so many friends from those that have hunted with us and farmers that have raised Elk and Deer for the Ranch. Over the 21 years we have harvested over 5,000 animals. After 21 years we have said goodbye to this business. The biggest reason for closing is the over regulation from the government. Increased regulations has increased costs dramatically and it has taken a lot of the fun out of it. We have been nervous about dotting an i, or crossing a t. We have other businesses that are not scrutinized the way we have been in this industry.

This has taken a huge weight off of our shoulders, but has left an empty feeling in knowing we will not be seeing so many of our friends in the future. I could write a book on the memories over the years. I read a book of notes hunters have left me over the years and definitely shed a few tears. If you have hunted with me and have a good story or two from your time with us, please share in the comments below. I wish I would have wrote them all down, there are soo many adventures that are hard to believe, I would love to be able to reminisce and keep these stories forever.

On another note, I am going to try to feed some of my inside desire to stay involved in the industry by helping out a hunting ranch about 40 miles away from me. I am going to work with them, teach them what I know, and help them get a great start to their ranch. If you book a hunt with them, let me know and I will come up. I won't be doing the work part, but will definitely visit and hang out. That will help me get my fix. The owner of the Ranch is Luke McAlpine. The Hunting ranch name is Hogsback Ranch. We haven't posted on American Adventures Ranch FB page for a while, I haven't because of the negative people in the world, but I needed to share this. Harvested the largest buck to date at AAR. 477 4/8". 36 points on each side, has a widest outside spread of 38.5". With that info shared, pictures still do not do this buck justice. Since we started in 2004 we have harvested close to 5,000 bucks off the ranch. Many of them very awesome and very amazing. This one belongs in the top of the top category. Congratulations Mr. Craig!!!

Just yesterday another hunter asked why I don't post pictures on FB any longer on this page. I get that question a lot. The comment below is why. These types of comments were being sent to some of those that had pictures on my page. At first it makes me upset, but then I go back to why we served in the military. To defend our rights. Including freedom of speech. Nobody should infringe on anyone's rights. He/She has a right to state their opinion. I don't like it and could put up a good argument, but I won't. Not until the day that someone infringes on my right to bear arms or my right to do what I love. Then I will not be so laid back. We have been filling our calendar each fall, so I don't need the FB presence, but this fall I would like to post pictures again of those that are willing to let me. We do harvest a couple hundred and it is fun to see the pics for those that hunt. I will ask before I post your picture, but be aware this is the type of posts you will sometimes get. For those that have harvested a deer with me and are willing to post it to my page, please do or send me a picture I can post. Even if it is mounted on your wall. That is how I want to return the message with my freedom of speech. Thank you for posts or pictures to this page or this post.

Here we go again!!! It is that time of the year. Maybe something normal. DEER HUNTING, FISHING, or a chance at a few guns. This is a great opportunity as ticket sales will be lower this year with everything going on. This is for a hunt at American Adventures Ranch this year or next for a 120-150 class Whitetail. Winner can schedule the hunt on any open date in 2020 or 2021. To buy tickets you can pick them up at the Stockyard or other Local businesses. If you are not local you can send a check to Fairchild Sportsman Club, P.O. Box 134. Fairchild, WI 54741. Any purchases are appreciated. Fairchild is a very small town and is one non profit organization that does a lot for our community.

Merry Christmas to all. Thank you to everyone who hunts with us and allows us to do what we love to do. We had another great year, made some new friends along with having a great time with those who continue to come back. 9 months and we can do it all again. Have a wonderful holiday season with family.
