It was a successful 2026 Midwest Midget Championship here at Jefferson County Speedway but not without much gratitude and THANKS to many people!
THANK YOU to all the fans, drivers, race teams, and sponsors of the 2026 Midwest Midget Championship! Many of our sponsors have been with us since the first event in 2016 including our Title Sponsor Riverside Chevrolet, INC., our presenting sponsors Westin Packaged Meats and Schmidt's Sanitation, along with Pollman LLC, Criner's Corner Bar And Grill, Vaughn Contracting, Side Trek Bar & Grill Harbine, Jefferson Count Visitors Committee, and Jim Criner's Tree Service! Additionally, Prellwitz Exteriors, the Katz Family with Katz Silage Harvesting and Katz Bro's Trucking and Paint, along with Tooleys Bar and the Bennett family have been with us for years as well and honestly the event would not be what it is without every one of them helping! Additionally, I want to recognize Kevin and Monica Schmidt along with their boys and even grandkids(I'm talking to you Easton!) just give unconditionally with their time, dollars, love, and friendship to all and its something that could never be repaid or recognized enough!
Probably the biggest THANKS and RECOGNITION should go to the Blue Crew(track crew) here at Jefferson County Speedway! Many are from here in Fairbury but we also have many that come to help with this event from Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado! These folks have already started prepping for the 2027 event with projects and upgrades to the track! I couldn't and wouldn't want to do it with any other group of people!
This event started as a support event for the Belleville Midget Nationals and has since established itself as a premier dirt track event here in the United States regardless of disciplines! With that said, the most important part of this event has always and will always be the people! The racing is the excuse for us to come together but the people and relationships are far more important than the racing! Whatever we do going forward and no matter how big this thing gets, it will always be centered around the people!!!
