Kevin Martin Curling Academy Wrap-up
What an exciting curling weekend! We had a fantastic turnout with 48 participants for Friday and Saturday’s events, along with five additional teams who signed up for one-on-one coaching with Kevin on Sunday.
This event was a true team effort, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to the following individuals and groups for making this weekend a resounding success:
First and foremost, our amazing ice crew, who showed up every day to make sure the ice was ready and in perfect shape. Each day Kevin mentioned that we had “GREAT” ice and that’s totally due to our ice crew, so thank you for taking time out of your day throughout the weekend to make it all happen.
To the Curling Foundation for their generous monetary contributions that helped support this event, Peter Lundquist (Dollar Car Rental) for providing Kevin’s rental car, and Lacy Birklid & family for generously donating their Airbnb to host Kevin during his stay.
To the planning committee, including Jon Johnson, Lacy Birklid, David Henja , Gayle Hazen, Carla Willeto, and Ken Hall for all your efforts planning and carrying out this amazing weekend for our members and Kevin alike. And last but not least, thank you to everyone who attended the Meet and Greet. Your presence perfectly showcased what our club is all about – great hospitality, good food, and excellent curling.
