Lunchtime walks. Loopy, the red husky pup, remembering her recall training after the long winter. Toby has to carry his emotional support ball the entire walk. Axel and Letty just mostly follow me and check in to get treats every 10 seconds

The bathing station!
Matt made this tiled sink a few years ago as a multi use tool. It is used most of the time as the "dog" or muck sink for filling their food buckets, cleaning and basically keeping things away from the human kitchen. He also installed hooks so it can be used as a dog bathing station. It works amazing for when certain dogs need a bath. The sled dogs don't need bathing often. These are the only two in the entire kennel that get some seasonal skin irritation from allergies and giving them medicated baths really seems to give them some relief.

You would think Cinderelli is like 12 years old...except that she is only 1.5 😆 she just wants to sleep on the couch all the time while everyone plays outside. Dogs actually aren't allowed on my couch, but she has made herself an exception always with a fluffy blanket. However,
put her in a harness, and she is one the hardest driving, wicked smart leaders that I have!

Kennel upgrades!
Lots since last year!
Long video, but it shows alot of what was built last year, thanks to Matt Flint. The sprint dogs absolutely love their fancy dog barn setup. They had no problems in our extremely harsh winter this year.
Everything is graveled and we have 4 big play yards!
Always upgrading to have happy, spoiled sled dogs.

Fairbanks, we just lived through the history books. The numbers are in, and the December to March 2025-26 season will go down as the all-time record coldest for Fairbanks since records began in 1904. With an average temperature of -13.6°F, we’ve edged out the legendary winter of 1965-66 to take the #1 spot.

This season marks a dramatic reversal from a year ago. After experiencing the second warmest December to March stretch on record last year, we saw a significant drop in temperatures this year, down to the coldest ever in Fairbanks history. It’s a powerful reminder of how variable Northern Alaska’s weather can be.

This season wasn’t just about one cold snap; it was a marathon of sub-zero endurance. Here’s a look at how this winter stacked up:

The Deep Freeze by the Numbers:

Persistence: 150 consecutive days and counting at or below freezing, marking the longest stretch the Interior has seen since the early 1970s.

Extreme Cold: We saw 31 days at or below -40°F, the fourth-highest count on record and the most since 1965. Additionally, 72 days reached at or below -20°F, and 52 days fell to at or below -30°F, with 66 days not even getting above 0°F.

Deep Snow: On top of the cold, we tallied 92.6" of snow, making this the 12th snowiest season on record.

Whether you’re celebrating the end of a record breaking winter or already missing the crisp air, one thing is certain: we earned those spring temperatures. ☀️

Come experience our track record run on Day 1 of the Tok Championships. 2 full passes and another attempted pass at the very end. My leaders, Guppy and Marvel, were absolutely amazing navigating this run. The tight passing and twisty turns make the last 3/4 mile a bit more spicy 😆 They averaged 22.7mph!
4 veterans and 4 yearlings on this team.
