Lionville School of Dance

LSOD proudly offers outstanding and fun dance education with a professional and nurturing staff.

At Lionville School of Dance, it is our mission and commitment to provide quality dance instruction and artistic training of the highest caliber. In developing and upholding a successful program, we offer all students a positive learning experience while promoting an atmosphere of excitement and fun. Our trained and experienced instructors strive to enhance students’ self-esteem, promote physical fitness, discipline and a sense of accomplishment.

LSOD embraces opportunities for students and teachers to take master classes and attend conventions and conferences that would enhance an increased level of learning and skill. We often invite guest teachers into our studio so the opportunity to learn is convenient and comfortable. We also provide performance opportunities so that students may participate in the world of dance through community projects, competitions, and annual recitals to showcase their talents. It is very important to us to establish effective communication channels while exhibiting fairness, understanding, and generosity between management, teachers, students, and their families.

The Nutcracker cast list will be available tomorrow (Wednesday, September 16th). Our first rehearsal will be on Sunday, September 20th and that schedule will also be posted tomorrow.

A few important notes:

-Hopefully, everyone is excited to participate in Nutcracker with their dance friends. If your dancer was hoping for a specific role (or not for a specific role), please encourage them to remember that they’re going to have fun with their friends and that the choreography changes from year to year, so even if they are cast in a role they’ve danced previously, the choreography will be new.

-From the tiniest mouse to the Sugarplum Fairy, every part is important! Please encourage your dancers to celebrate their parts and the casting of their friends.

-With a large cast, not every part will rehearse this week. Starting next week, we will post the weekly rehearsal schedule on Monday for the following Sunday (for example: the schedule for Sunday, September 27th will be posted on Monday, September 21st. Schedules will be posted at the studio, on the website, and on our page.

Happy Labor Day! As a reminder, the studio is closed today. We will reopen for all regularly scheduled classes on Tuesday. We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day off!

It was great to see so many new and current LSOD families (and our teachers!) at our Open House on Wednesday! We can't wait to see everyone in class starting on Monday.

Reminder: the last day to sign up for the 2026 production of The Nutcracker is Saturday, September 5th.

We're sending all our best wishes to our newest alumni who are starting college this week and to all our current students starting school this week and next week!

Dance classes start in one week (on August 31st). Please join us at our annual open house on Wednesday to see our studio spaces, meet some of our teachers, and see a few preview performances!

Spots in each class are limited, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can register at our annual Open House on August 26th from 5-7pm or online through our website.

Please note that a few classes are already full, but alternative options are available as follows:
•Hip Hop (ages 7+) - spots are available on Friday at 6:30pm or Saturday at 10am
•Ballet/Tap (ages 4-6) - spots are available on Saturday at 10am

The following classes have very limited availability, so please sign up as soon as possible if your dancer is interested in one of these classes:
•Hip Hop (ages 5+) - Monday at 4:30pm
•Ballet/Tap (age 6-8) - Tuesday at 4:30pm
