The “BARN Fitness Center” / Exira-EHK Weight Room

Hello Barn followers,
The cardio equipment arrived yesterday and is setup. Still missing 2 bikes. We now have 4 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 rowers, a recumbent bike and a stair master. Very exciting. 7 machines have video screens and are connected to the internet. The bike in the picture is just a prop and will not be part of the finished room. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!☀️
With that said, we are still seeking donations to help pay for the remaining pin pull equipment if anyone is interested in helping us out with this. We are planning on 9-10 different machines that will each have at least 2 different exercises.
Hoping to have it open to members by Labor Day! Stay cool all❄️

Hello Barn followers,
I am going to open up the “Barn door” for anyone who is interested in what is going on and where we are with this project.
3 days from 1-3 pm on June 28th, July 3rd and again on July 5th. Stop by if you are in Exira. Hope to see you there.

It’s finally happening. Construction is completed and we actually used the room for high school weights this morning for the first time since last November. The room looks amazing. Contractors did an amazing job, a huge thank you to Viking Construction and Exira PH&E for doing a great job.
We are waiting on the cardio equipment to be delivered and set up at the end of the month or first part of July.
The remaining equipment, pin pull stationary equipment is still in the works. Need to continue to raise the money for this to be completed.

Progress is being made. Walls and ceiling is complete. Lighting and ventilation are complete. It's hard to get a good picture of the size of the room from these pictures, but it's a BIG space, 90' x 38'. Flooring is next and should be installed hopefully the first part of May. Can't wait to see how that will tie everything together. After that we will begin to move equipment back into the room.

We are still seeking donations to finish out the room with the cardio and stationary equipment. If you have been considering a donation, now would be a great time to do that. All donors will be included on the recognition board. Donations have ranged from $100 to $50,000. Everything counts.

One thought with class reunion season coming up is if "The Class of ????" would like to make a donation. Something to consider.

We are still seeking donations to purchase the equipment for the new fitness center. Cardio equipment will be the first priority, followed by the stationary strength equipment. If you are interested, see the donation form below. All donors will be acknowledged on the recognition board as part of this project.
