CHAMPIONSHIP MENTALITY. 🐉⚾

The Ocean State Dragons 12U Black faced adversity this weekend but showed exactly what this team is made of.

Game 1 didn’t go our way, falling 9-1 despite a dominant performance on the mound from Danny D, who struck out 11 batters over five strong innings. Jasson V drove in the Dragons’ lone run, while Ryan C, John R, Nick D, and Jasson each collected a hit.

But champions respond.

In Game 2, the Dragons exploded for a 15-5 victory to force a winner-take-all championship game. Danny D put on a show, blasting TWO home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in six runs. Ryan C was unstoppable at the plate, going 4-for-4, while Cameron R added a home run of his own. John R battled on the mound before Cyrus E came in and shut the door with a scoreless inning of relief.

With the championship on the line Sunday, the Dragons delivered their best performance of the weekend.

John R got things started with a three-run homer in the first inning, and the Dragons never looked back. A six-run second inning, highlighted by a three-run blast from Danny D and a two-run homer from Cyrus E, put the game out of reach. Nick D was outstanding on the mound, throwing five strong innings while striking out six and allowing just one earned run.

The Dragons pounded out 11 hits in the championship clincher, with Chase P, John R, Nick D, and Danny D each collecting two hits. John and Danny drove in three runs apiece as the Dragons secured an 11-2 victory and brought home the title.

Yesterday the Ocean State Dragons 10u boys took on the Bandits to start their playoff season.
In the first game, our boys came extremely close to beating the number one seed, losing by only one run. But in the second game, every player stepped up and did what they had to for the win! The Dragons will take on the Bandits again today at noon at Continental Field in Warwick, with the winner advancing to the next playoff round. Come out and support if you can!

9U Dragons awards last night:

Silver Slugger - Max Demers: led the team in triples and OBP.

CY Young - Declan Phelan - led innings pitched and strikeouts.

MVP - Leonardo Pinto - led team in total hits, doubles, runs scored, stolen bases, defensive putouts from the field and throwing out would be base stealers.

🇺🇸⚾ Memorial Day Weekend Success for Ocean State Dragons 13U! ⚾🇺🇸

The Ocean State Dragons 13U put together an outstanding Memorial Day Weekend tournament run, battling their way to the Semifinals against some tough competition.

The team showed grit, determination, and a true Dragons mentality all weekend long, representing the organization with pride on and off the field.

A special congratulations goes out to two Dragons players who were selected to the All-Tournament Team for their exceptional performances throughout the weekend. Their hard work and dedication were on full display and helped fuel the team's deep tournament run.

Congratulations to the entire team, coaches, and families on a great weekend of baseball. The future is bright for this group! 🐉⚾
