The North American Pond Hockey Championship weekend event is organized by volunteers with the DWB Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization which carries on the legacy of David Wynn Bigham of Shorewood. Paul Vulcans hockey team and spent eight years in professional baseball with the Minnesota Twins and several other organizations. After retiring from professional baseball, Bigham devoted many hours to the North American Pond Hockey Championship event. Since 2013, the DWB Memorial Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 for charitable organizations.
