To any of our Sunshine Fastpitch family that is left on this page, we wanted to reach out for help.
For anyone who remembers our beneficiary, Kianna and her family from our 2016 tournament, they lost their house and their pets to a fire today. Two adults and three kids lost everything. I did a photoshoot of the kids not to long ago. Their photos are below. The family is physically fine but as you can imagine, the mental side is not. They are in need of clothing for the adults and for the kids, food and school supplies are also needed ASAP. A gofundme page has been setup to help the family. The link is below. Attention baseball and softball players of all ages. Everybody knows somebody who plays baseball or softball or even coaches.
Since our charity softball tournament is permanently canceled, we still have a responsibility to raise money for Maria, who's been our tournament beneficiary for the last two years. Technically speaking, we haven't raised enough money to grant her dream yet.
Due to the generosity of Trenton Joe & Son in Ewing NJ, a New Era wheeled bat bag was donated for us to auction off to try to raise money for Maria's dream. Her dream is to go to Florida for a week with no expenses to the family. While she's there, her and her family will visit Disney World, Legoland and more. Please share this to your social media and help us raise money for Maria.
This bat bag will hold a lot of stuff including four bats, a helmet, cleats, glove and baseballs or softballs. This bag can also be a team gear bag for coaches. Click the link below to see pictures and a full description of the bag.

Here are the left over t-shirts that we are selling for $5 a piece to help raise money for Maria. Maria was scheduled to be our tournament beneficiary in 2020 and 2021. She will never get to experience the tournament first hand but we can still hold a fundraiser to get her to Florida. We regret to inform everyone that our tournament has been permanently canceled after thirteen years. Covid-19 forced us to cancel our 2020 & 2021 tournament. Overall, our donations have been down, all of our expenses have gone up and holding the tournament has become more of a challenge every year.
We need to thank everyone who supported us over the last thirteen years. Thank you to the Sunshine Foundation for supporting our event and being such an awesome charity. The Ewing Township Recreation Department has been on our side since year one. We are truly grateful for them in helping us with the fields. Thank you to our faithful volunteers and field maintenance crews for all of your work through years of rain, heat and other challenging circumstances. Our core group of volunteers have been with us from year one to help with overall logistics of the tournament from umpire and game scheduling, helping with raffles, team check in and everything in between. Without all of you, we wouldn't have been able to achieve our tournament goal every year. Thank you to every single team who participated in our tournament. Many organizations attended multiple years and some participated once. Either way, it all counts in the end. The Ewing Edge program also deserves recognition for their attendance every year and working with us. From turning over the keys to the facility, donating field supplies and finding help for the concession stand, they were very instrumental in our tournaments success. Finally, all of our sponsors deserve a huge thank you. Without your contributions we would've had a very hard time achieving our goal.

This was not an easy decision. Over the thirteen years we've met so many awesome people who shared the same vision as we do. Paying it forward and helping those in need are essential building blocks for todays youth and that is what we wanted to bring awareness to every year.

Thank you again to everyone for all that you've done for us. The tournament may be over, but the memories live on with us and all of our beneficiaries and their families.

The Sunshine Fastpitch Invitational has been permanently canceled after 13 years

Hello and Happy New Year. We've been receiving a lot of inquiries about the status of our tournament for 2021. Below is our current status and all we now at this time.
Much like last year, there are many variables that have to come into play in order for us to have our tournament. First, Ewing Township has to open the complex for tournaments. Second, we need approval from the Sunshine Foundation to go ahead and have the tournament. Third, we have to take our beneficiaries health into account since she is high risk. And last but not least, we have to be able to get enough umpires to hold the tournament. A lot of our past tournament umpires are no longer umpiring due to COVID.

Our projected date is Saturday July 10th, 2021. Sunday July 11th will be the makeup date. This date is currently pending as of this post. Any updates will be posted ASAP. We are taking teams but we are also being honest and upfront about our status. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

Meet our 2020 Tournament Beneficiary - Maria

"My name is Maria. I’m a 13 year old eighth grader.
I was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, a kidney disorder, at the age of five.
I'm currently a Girl Scout, love gymnastics, and I'm a huge Harry Potter fan.
I've never been to Disney World and have wanted to go since I was four years old.
I cannot wait to see the Magic Kingdom and go on all the rides."
