(KUTV) โ€” Recovering from an injury doesnโ€™t always stop at surgery or physical therapy. Sometimes, managing the pain and getting back to the lifestyle you want might require something more โ€” such as Pilates. โ€œI tried so many different things, and this worked for me I guess bec...

Why Chair Yoga?
Chair yoga is all about accessibility, yoga for all, no matter mobility or lack of, on the go, office, classroom or home. The benefits of chair yoga are both grounding and uplifting, energizing and calming while creating a sense of community and belonging.
Teaching chair yoga has helped me go deeper in my own personal practice and giving me the opportunity to share what I love with a community that you would not find in a typical yoga studio.
It has deepened my understanding of yoga, I have learned to break down asanas to get the most physical benefits while keeping them safe. I have learned you donโ€™t have to go into the fullest expression of the pose to get the benefits, both physically and mentally

Join us for this special training to deepen your awareness of populations with special needs, and shre the gift of yoga with them.

"Moving is probably the most important thing you can do for back pain
When back pain strikes, your first instinct may be to avoid physical activity and retreat to the couch until the pain subsides.

But doctors now think that in most cases, this is probably the worst thing you can do. Studies comparing exercise to no exercise for chronic low back pain are consistently clear: Physical activity can help relieve pain, while being inactive can delay a personโ€™s recovery."

A review of 80-plus studies upends the conventional wisdom.

"Listen to your body." I know that as a person who has had low back problems (scoliosis and injury from a fall) since my early teen years my back feel better when I roll up through my spine. It doesn't matter if it is from a standing forward fold or a supine Pilates roll-up I have gotten huge relief and mobility from articulating my spine to a neutral position. The more movement in all directions the better and stronger I am.

There is a lot of discussion in yoga about what constitutes safe practice in regards to disc problems, particularly of the lumbar spine. To help make sense of the diverse opinions on the subject it is worth reviewing the anatomy and physiology of the disc, and also the history of the ideas around th...

I love my WAGS. ๐Ÿ’•I would have had to severely limit both my Pilates and yoga if it didn't have these gloves. I have been wearing them for years. Lost count of how many I have worn out, at least 5 or 6. I no longer wear out sneakers since my main workouts are done barefoot. I wear out my Wrist Assured Gloves instead. ๐ŸŒž

Therapeutic Thursday

Have you ever "googled" our gloves?
Check out this older post that is a great visual of how our patented gel pads work!

This (gel pad) reduces the extreme angle at the wrist and distributes pressure evenly across the palm to off load the joint and ease the strain.
