Happy 12th Birthday Blessings Bishop Boy! You have been a martial artist since you were kicking in mamaz womb. It is in your blood. You've accomplished so much in your childhood and will strive for more in your tweens. Keep up the hard work and stay humble kiddo. We love you! Hybrid Kempo MA - Hybrid Ohana Highlights 2023 - Annual Belt Test & Promotion Ceremony, December '23. Congratulations to our incredible students for achieving their newly promoted belt ranks and to the new Junior Black & Student Black Belts! Chief Instructor Jim and Simu Jocelyn are grateful for the time, dedication and commitment you all put into the skill and love of martial arts and our school. Achieving these promotions require mental and physical abilities to overcome many challenges, testing patience, performance and will. Of course, Simu Joce gets emotional with pride and joy every time haha! HUGE Mahalo to our HKMA ohana, parents and supporters, past and present, for the years of consistently being there for your kids! As always, we are thankful for your everlasting love and support! Merry Christmas and Best of the Best Wishes to Our Hybrid Kempo Ohana! This year has been challenging for many and we've been blessed to have the grace to keep up the fight, building from the ground up - literally! Ending the year with another Belt Test and Promotion Ceremony is a highlight and we are thankful for our Studentz, Kempo Momz & Dadz and FamFriendz Families that continue to support and believe in us with purpose to help our community gain knowledge in and passion for martial arts. Congratulations to this kiddo right here who won 1st Place Gold Medals in both Kumite(Sparring) and Kata(Forms) Division in last month's martial arts tournament! We are so proud of you! Breaking News: Bishop was recently invited to join and be sponsored by the nationally ranked Piont Sparring Competition TEAM PRAISE! AKA League of Angels, they are well known Champions of the Sport, and we are Grateful and Honored to be a part of this team and Bishop's new journey. If ya didn't notice, at the last tournament he competed in KATA forms for Hybrid Kempo and in KUMITE for Team Praise, hence the uniform change. We Give Thanks to God for this opportunity, and to Professor Charl Oka, Pastor Po aka Ron Pohnel, Professor James Kula, his team coaches and teammates, and sponsors Team Praise, Fighter's Inc., and Top Ten Fight MMA Gear for believing in him and his skill and guiding his heart through faith. Happy Thanksgiving to our Hybrid Ohana! We are so very thankful for our students and families for the dedication and support for our school and training martial arts together over the years. We're thankful for the opportunity to compete again in tournaments and for our mentors, instructors and practitioners who continue to share, demonstrate and come together in passion for the skill. The past couple years have been challenging for us and many other martial arts schools, but we fight on and just keep training. Our prayers and hopes go out to all trying to fight the good fight, even beyond our MMA world. We hope our Hybrid Kempo Ohana families are safe and joyous this holiday weekend. If 3 memes ain't the charm, then maybe they will just never get it. People are going through a lot of loss, heartbreak, hardship and trauma, especially in these times. Everyone has their own story, and not everyone who asks for help is a swindler. Don't cast stones or expect to lecture them on integrity or character when you don't know their history and misery. Compassion is key. Understand the cause and effect. We are all sinners who seek redemption. Some people still manage to smile through suffering. KNOW THAT.
