🌟 **Athlete Spotlights** 🌟

At Special Olympics Oahu, we celebrate not just the incredible accomplishments of our athletes at out events, but also their remarkable achievements on their own!

Today, we shine a light on **IAN KAHALEWAI, who has been selected to join the **United States Athlete Leadership Council (USALC)**! 🎉

The USALC is a vital group of Special Olympics athletes from around the US who act as the Athlete Voice of Special Olympics. Their voices and insights shape the future of our movement. Ian will be working closely with national and local leadership to advocate for inclusion, improve programs, and represent athlete perspectives—ensuring that athletes are at the forefront of decision-making. It is a huge honor and you will do an Amazing job!

We also want to recognize two more of our amazing athletes, REYSE SAKIMA and ALICE WEBB, who recently competed in the **Honolulu Holiday Biathlon**! 🏃‍♂️🏊‍♀️ This is an annual tradion for these 2 athletes. Reyse tackles the 5K run, while Alice makes a splash with her 1K swim at Ala Moana Beach Park. Their teamwork and dedication exemplify the spirit of Special Olympics!

Mahalo to everyone who came out and supported our holiday movie festival! We had amazing vendors and met a lot of fun people. Our outside movie didn’t happe because the weather was uncooperative, but we pivoted and watched the movie inside!
Thanks to those who braved the Rain and came to support Special Olympics Oahu. Happy holidays!
