We are a grassroots program striving to become a leading organization in the Chicago-land area. Many programs are out of touch, AND out of reach to our inner-city youth. (no pun intended). Often times our c
hildren are targeted and labeled, based on their performance on standardized tests, which are not so standard to every child. They have many dreams, many ideals, and many talents. Top Of The Key Sports has a dream too.... "....to reach as many children as possible in as much time as it takes and follow through and succeed WITH them all the way to and through - college....!"
We plan to accomplish this through Recreational Sports Activities, conducting camps, tournaments and league play, Life Skills Workshops emphasizing techniques to live more productive lifestyles, - for the athletes as well as their primary caregivers, Employment Assistance and Business Acumen Workshops, Nutrition Education - teaching youth about their anatomy and how to care for their bodies properly for the best successes in whatever they do, Mentorship - being trusted counselors and role models, and Apprenticeship Training to become Coaches, Team Managers, Referees and Mentors for others in their community, and Periodic Performance Assessments by the participants and staff.
