Hey Everyone!
It has been a rough month with the flooding and craziness that has been happening. One thing after another. If you have been trying to reach us, I do apologize tremendously! We currently do not have any office staff available. So I will be in the office myself this week. I have ALOT of calls to make and emails to return! Please be patient as I try to get back with everyone as quickly as I can. Thank you. We do appreciate all of you!

Good morning Seasonal Campers! We know you are all excited to start the camping season. As are we :) ! However, I have a few important updates/reminders.

Hawthorn Creek :
1.All sites should have water and electric. They should be ready to go. If you are having any issues please let Charlie know.
2. The clubhouse remains CLOSED to campers at this time. Please do NOT go inside.

River Country :
* Please note that we have not cleared the Creek Bridge entrance. Please use the other entrance with the cattle gate. *
1. The lower loop has NOT been assessed for all the damages and we are unsure if they currently have or will have electricity on soon. We had about 70 electric posts completely under water. DO NOT place your campers and plug them in until we tell you that it is safe to do so! This is for your own safety and we are taking this very seriously.
2. If you are a River site seasonal please feel free to camp on the hill temporarily until your sites are cleared.
3. Charlie thinks he has water on to the park and it looks stable. So your sites should have water. If you see or suspect any leaks please let us know so that we can get it taken care of.
4. We believe all seasonal sites off the river have electric. If you are having any issues please let Charlie know.
5. The showerhouse should be open fully this weekend. It has water and hot water. At this exact moment ONLY the womens side is mostly scrubbed and cleaned. We are doing our best to get things done as quick as we can. We are hoping to have more done this weekend. And will continue to get the park fully open as soon as we can.
6. I will also be in the office this weekend as much as I can be. We are hiring more staff to start work soon. If you have left us messages we will get to them soon.
7. The Rec room, laundry room, and bathrooms are not open at this time. No water. We wanted to get water to the park first. But we are hoping this week :)

We understand that this flood has put a damper on things. Please know that we are trying to get everything done as quickly as we can. But some things need to be done by professionals so we have to wait. All we can do is hope that maybe things arent as bad as they can be! 🤞 I myself am hoping its just ALOT of cleanup... so if everyone can cross their fingers that the electric in the Lower loop/River area is fine and just has to dry out that would be great! We do know that we lost at least one River site (non seasonal) so far. We appreciate each and every camper that comes to River Country Campground! And we appreciate all of your support during this time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope to see everyone back to camping soon.

Thank you Emma Moore for the cute flyer.

Current Park conditions as of Tuesday early evening : Creek Bridge is still flooded over. Please do NOT attempt to cross. If you are a seasonal you may use the gate by the road to check on your camper. If you are NOT a current seasonal camper please do not come to the park. Our lower loop and River sites are still very flooded. This is preventing us from starting the water and we have not been able to check the lower area for damage yet. Also, Gaga pit has been located (in the woods) and a section of our train has migrated to a shadier spot near the woods, others have tipped over. Roads on the lower hill are very soft. Please do not drive down there. Hawthorn Creek is in good condition. Just some soft spots so be careful (and mindful not to get stuck). The clubhouse is NOT available at this time, please do not enter until further notice Thank you everyone! We will continue to keep everyone posted.
** If you are a seasonal coming soon to check on your camper please be aware that as of right now we do not have water on and no restrooms are available. Also, there is no camping. Thank you for understanding.

Small flood update: Our home area is down 4-6 inches from yesterday. I will get updated pictures of the park soon. But I think it will continue to go down more today 🤞. Even with the storm and rain we had overnight we went down about 2 -3 inches overnight.

Flood update : River Country side looks great, minus all the extra water obviously. No campers have water. On Hawthorn side we did get more water overnight. On Hawthorn side Campsites 14,15, and 16 have about an inch of water partially under some of them. We will be checking again in a few hours. A few in the area of site 11 have sheds in water. But the campers seem good. I will attach photos. The field area behind sites 4 to 7 has water up the fence and maybe a little near the campers. But it seems to be doing well for the moment. We are doing the best we can right now to keep everyone updated.

To all our campers : We are very busy with the flooding currently happening. Our own home has 2 ft of water. We will not be returning calls for a few days until we can get this under control. We apologize for any inconvenience. Also we will get updated pictures soon. All Rvs are still safe as of our last check around noon.

And not to forget Hawthorn :) you guys are doing ok so far...
