Everyone, please take a minute to read this. The TSUA meeting scheduled for February 9th has been moved to February 12th. Same time same place. This move was necessary because the IHSAA has scheduled the IHSAA Softball Certification for that night in the same room, and I must be at the clinic. If you are a IHSAA umpire I encourage you to attend this clinic, even if you are a newer umpire, and not eligible for the tournament. Please update your schedules/calendars.

Everyone, please take a minute to read this. First off, I hope everyone had a great holiday and stayed away from eating too much!! I sent this email right before the holidays, and I am sure it was probably over looked by some of you. If you plan to join the association again this year, please take a minute to complete the google form. See the link below, this will assure us that we have current info on everyone. Let try not to drag this out till the end of march.



Please note…..the first meeting is coming up on January 21st.



Second, as of January 1st, I will no longer be using the [email protected] email address, we have shut down our Spectrum account. The email address I will use going forward will be [email protected]



Well, it is that time of year again and, and the 2026 softball season is right around the corner. The Tri-State Umpire Association meetings and training will be starting. Below in yellow is a link to a Google form that you can click on, fill out, and hit submit for the 2026 season registration. Dues are still just $10.00.



All the meeting dates and info are also on this form. Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you at the meetings!!

TSUA would like to thank Matt Lane & Brian Edge for volunteering their time at Bosse Field tonight. A great game was played by Ladders vs Cuffs. (Firefighters vs Policemen) Truly a fun night....Again a big thank you to Matt Lane & Brian Edge.

This is Anna, Secretary & Treasurer of TSUA.
I never say anything however I feel the need to give the full truth here.

There is another orgination, (I'm sure you know who I speak of) that is stating things that isn't the entire truth.

They don't mention that THEY wait too long to start scheduling for tournaments. They don't mention that Mike from TSUA called several times with no response to inform them he could send help. He did in fact give them help and no thanks is necessary or expected.

It's a shame they don't know how to treat their Umpires.

There is always 2 sides to a story. No Umpires were stolen from this organization.

Both myself & Mike would like to say thank you to all you hard working Umpires. It's amazing how you work through all this heat. Stay hydrated...

2025 TSUA MEETINGS

Umpires, I know it is a way off, but I now have dates set for the 2025 TSUA meetings. As in the past these will be at North High School, room 221 I believe. I will confirm that. It will be the same room as last year.



Meetings will start at 6:00 PM. Should last about 90 minutes.



The dates are below:

January 15th.

February 4th, 12th, 18th, 24th

March 5th.

I will send more info as we get closer.

The Tri-State Umpire Association will host a Softball Umpire camp for new or newer softball umpires. This camp is designed to help the newer umpires improve their craft and be prepared to work higher level games.

For the new umpire it will prepare you to make sure you know proper mechanics/positioning/ and basics of softball umpiring. For the umpire with a few years’ experience the camp will help elevate your ability and prepare you for higher level games.



The camp will be ran in conjunction with the IU Southeast Showcase at Deaconess Sports Complex in Evansville Indiana on September 21st and 22nd.



This camp is set up to help all the camper become more knowledgeable about umpiring softball.

The cost is $25.00 per umpire, and will be refunded when you complete the camp.



Umpires will umpire the showcase games and receive instructions from the instructor assigned to your field. Field will rotate during the camp. So you will get feedback and instructions from 3-4 different instructors.



The instructors all have experience working state championship at the high school level, USA Softball National Championships and games at the NCAA level, in clouding NCAA post season selection.



Camp umpires will be paid for the games you work during the camp. So at the end of the camp you will get your $25.00 back and paid for the game. So in essence you will get paid to attend the camp.



There are not many camps offered where the umpires actually have money in their pocket when they are done!!

The NFHS is the national leader and advocate for high school athletics as well as fine and performing arts programs. Within our 51 member state associations, we serve 19,500 high schools and more than 12 million young people.

Everyone, this is your reminder for the TSUA meeting this coming Thursday, February 8th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be at North High School in Room C221. Directions below.


We will have a lot to discuss at the meeting so please plan to attend and be on time.



Dues will be collected, and we need to get this taken care ASAP. A form is attached and earlier I sent a link to register online. Due are still $10.00. If you don’t have the link, let me know and I will resend it.

I would also encourage you to purchase the insurance also. For $11.00 this is a great safety net so to speak. We will discuss more at the meeting. We will also have to discuss the background checks. These are just part of being an official and covering your behind. You will have to show proof of both to work games at Deaconess regardless who is hosting the events. So, start planning on getting this done. Don’t wait till April 1st and say you are working on it……THAT WILL BE TOO LATE. I don’t want to have to take you off games, but I am not going out on a limb either!!

The meetings at North High School will be on the second floor. You will enter through the main doors on the north side of the building that takes you into the gym. Go straight in and on your right is a stairwell that will take you to the second floor. When you get to the second floor, go left at the first hallway, you come too. The room will be down a couple doors on your left. (RM # C221)
