Evansville Class A Tournament is this Saturday. Please note: Evansville is currently under an extreme heat advisory, with temperatures reaching levels that are highly unusual for this area. We understand that these conditions may create additional challenges for you, your instructors, competitors, and families traveling to the tournament.

Please know that we are doing everything within our control to help make the tournament as comfortable and safe as possible.

For this weekend, we have made the following accommodations:

Competitors may wear an ATA-branded T-shirt with their dobok pants while competing. A full dobok top is not required.
Judges who wear suits are not required to wear their jackets.
We have brought in industrial-sized fans to help improve air circulation throughout the venue.
Water will be available to all competitors and spectators.
We strongly encourage everyone to bring a handheld fan or anything else that may help them stay cool and comfortable.
We also ask that you please communicate these accommodations and recommendations to your students and families before they arrive. Encourage everyone to stay hydrated, take advantage of opportunities to cool down, and be mindful of the heat throughout the day.

We sincerely apologize for the difficult conditions. This extreme weather is beyond our control, but we want you to know that we are taking the situation seriously and are doing everything we can to support our competitors, judges, and families.

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and partnership. We greatly appreciate everything you do for your schools and students. I will be onsite this weekend and look forward to seeing all of you.

Martial arts helps develop confidence and self-esteem by giving students the opportunity to set goals, overcome challenges, and experience success through consistent effort. As they learn new skills, earn belt ranks, and push through obstacles, they begin to believe in their own abilities. Martial arts also teaches discipline, perseverance, respect, and a positive attitude—helping students become more confident not only in the martial arts studio, but in school, work, relationships, and everyday life.
