2026 Romain Subaru J.S. Wassmer Fendrich Open
Another Fendrich Open is in the books after a great weekend of golf at Fendrich Golf Course.
The Professional Championship needed extra golf, with Jay Nimmo, Dylan Meyer and Mitch Davis finishing tied after 36 holes. The three headed to Hole #10 for a sudden-death playoff, where Jay made birdie on the first playoff hole to capture the 2026 Professional Championship.
Kyle Aiton had a big Sunday, firing a 9-under-par 61 to finish 12-under and win the Amateur Championship.
Our other 2026 champions were Jeremy Curtis in Amateur B Flight, Brandon Moore in Amateur C Flight, Jason Mueller in the Senior division, and Hank Schreiber in the Junior division.
A huge thank you to Jason and our entire maintenance crew for all of their hard work getting the golf course ready for the tournament. The course has gone through a lot of changes this year, and their work helped make for a great championship weekend.
A special thank you to Mayor Terry and the Evansville Parks Department for their continued investment in Fendrich Golf Course. The improvements made in 2026, including the work to improve our fairways and irrigation upgrade, are an investment not only in the course today but in its future. We also greatly appreciate their continued support of the Fendrich Open and allowing us to use the golf course for our championship weekend
I also want to thank our Rules Officials for giving their time and expertise throughout the weekend. Having them on the course makes running this tournament a whole lot easier for me, and their help is greatly appreciated.
And, of course, this tournament wouldn’t be possible without the businesses and individuals who support it. A huge thank you to our title sponsor, Romain Subaru, along with Oakwood Mutual, Joe Gish, Pro-Tex-All, Mel-Kay, Tammy Evans and Troy Schreiber in memory of Phyllis and Jerry Schreiber, TaylorMade, Brinker’s Jewelers, Papa Johns, Torian Insurance, Friend CPA Group, and Walther’s Golf & Fun.
Thank you to all of our players, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who came out to support the 2026 Romain Subaru J.S. Wassmer Fendrich Open.
Congratulations to Jay, Kyle, Jeremy, Brandon, Jason and Hank on their 2026 championships!
