THIS WEEKEND ONLY, the Northwestern Sailing Team is hosting our annual SAIL WITH A SAILOR!

Come experience the thrill of sailing on Lake Michigan with our team! Absolutely no experience necessary, just bring your excitement and we’ll handle the rest! After sailing, stick around for beach games and a BBQ right on the lake. With warm weather in the forecast, there’s no better weekend to get out on the water ☀️

WHEN:
- Sunday 5/24, 10:30AM - 4PM
- Monday (Memorial Day) 5/25, 10:30AM - 4PM

WHERE:
- on South Beach (1823 Campus Dr.)

- $7 for NU students

To wrap up our competitive Spring season, we sent 11 of our sailors out to Michigan for a team-favorite regatta, the Cream City Classic! After two days of tight racing across our two berths, we are proud to say Wildcats 2 took 5th overall, including a 3rd in B division, and Wildcats 1 took 1st overall, with 1st in both A and B divisions!

Congratulations and special shout-outs go to our seniors, Jenna Krinsky, George Warfel, and Millie Rose Taub, for finishing their competitive collegiate sailing careers with first-place finishes in their respective divisions. As always, thank you for your contributions to the team!

Last weekend, for the second of our triple-regatta weekend, we sent 5 sailors out to New York to race the Admiral’s Cup at King’s Point! This was our first time sailing on the competitive East Coast since October and our team was able to bring home a 12th overall, including 11th in B division! Off the water, it was great to explore the Big Apple and reconnect with ex-captain and class of ‘25 alum !

Last week, we sent 8 of our sailors down to Tulane in New Orleans to compete in the Open Team Racing National Championship! It was an honor to represent the MCSA while racing some of the best in country. We walked away 16th overall but described as a “competitive squad [who] gave some teams a really hard run and I think that speaks volumes to their improvement and progress in the Midwest.” It was great to make an appearance at Open Team Race Nationals for the first time in 9 years and hope to be back again in 2027!

Thank you to some of our seniors, Cora Star, Nick Chesemore, and Samantha Forgosh, for leaving it all out on the course for us one last time! Thank you to for hosting, and thank you to Parker Waters for the amazing on-the-water photos!

Last weekend we hosted one of our annual home regattas, NU Spring! We had 9 teams from across the MCSA and 4 NU berths come compete on Lake Michigan. Due to heavy winds and a few capsizes, unfortunately we had to end Saturday racing early and cancel Sunday entirely. NU Wildcats 1 and 2 were able to come away with FIRST and SECOND in the overalls and both A and B divisions, respectively! Wildcats 3 took 7th overall with 3rd in A, and Wildcats 4 took 12th! Special thanks to our Regatta Coordinator, Elliott Yoder, and all the teams who competed for such a fun weekend!

Last weekend we sent 12 sailors out to Grand Valley State University in Michigan for Laker Showdown! A Saturday full of racing brought strong competition, tricky conditions, and plenty of learning moments. With Sunday racing canceled due to high winds, the team took home 9th and 11th in the overalls. Thank you to for hosting!
