Our Story
The Northwestern University Equestrian Team (NUET) is a co-ed Northwestern University club sport. We compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA): Zone 7, Region 4. The Northwestern Equestrian Team believes that commitment, dedication, and a love of horses are more important than prior experience. Therefore any student who has a desire to ride should be allowed that opportunity. NUET rides at Red Coat Farm in Hawthorn Woods, IL under Meggie Cramer. The team takes lessons in groups of two to five riders. We use university vehicles to travel to lessons and shows. Riding on the Northwestern Equestrian Team is both challenging and fun, regardless of whether riders want to show competitively or not. The goal is to refine horsemanship by riding at least once a week. NUET also gets together for recreational activities such as trail rides, fundraising events, movie nights, etc. Because the Equestrian Team is a club team, it is entirely student-run, enabling members to perfect skills not only in horseback riding but also in decision-making and leadership.
