First up on this year’s set of Senior Spotlights is Lila!

Lila is from Pelham, NY and double majored in Journalism and International Studies while at NU!

She will miss the tight-knit community of the crew team and the connections she made with her teammates. In her words, “NU Crew = Family 🥹” and we couldn’t agree more! Lila always brought her trademark enthusiasm and pep to every 6am practice of the season.

Since graduating, she now works at a financial communications firm in New York City—shoutout the Big Apple! 🍎

We miss you already Lila, so come back soon!

NU Crew is back from a record breaking performance at ACRA this year!

🌟We placed 8th overall in team points, a first for the program
🥈Our Women’s 1st Varsity AND Women’s 2nd Varsity boats placed 2nd in the nation in their Grand Finals
🚣‍♂️We launched four 8-seat boats and two 4-seat boats, all of which were fiercely competitive in their events

After 2 quarters of rowing in the Skokie and a winter full of erging, we got to showcase all that we worked for on a national stage.

With the spring season coming to a close, we honor our seniors who will be graduating and officially becoming NU Crew Alumni (and added to our wonderful email list) ‼️

Practicing our artistry on and off the water this weekend!

With one week to ACRA, our athletes participated in the great Northwestern tradition of rock painting. We had a great time guarding the rock, and made some dough with our pie-a-rower fundraiser. Hopefully we left our mark on the rock!

We’re painting The Rock tomorrow at 5pm! Before then, we’re hosting Pie-A-Rower where you can chuck pies at our illustrious rowers for a low, low cost!

Had a terrific row at MACRA this past weekend!

At our last race before nationals, our rowers did not disappoint. Our women’s 1v and 2v both pulled through with 2nd place medals, and our men’s 8+s got to throw down with the toughest crews in the Midwest.

Two weeks out from ACRA, it’s time to get back in the lab.

Happy to announce that for the 4th year in a row we’ve brought home the Illinois State Rowing Champ trophy home 🏆

Alongside the overall team points trophy we defended our women’s and men’s team trophies and brought plenty of clinkage to boot! Thank you for all the parents who came to support the team.
