So with this drill, I directed her to go right or left and to catch the color I called on the Hecostix as she’s holding a ball in her right hand. Then, once the Hecostix is caught, she throws the ball in the area with the corresponding color that was called on the Hecostix.

This is a great drill for listening and thinking quickly to adjust to the play at hand as she has to knowingly throw to the right area. Not only that, but she has to adjust her footwork accordingly to throw correctly. When she goes to her left, I advised that she transfers her feet to make the throw the opposite way and when she goes to her right, I advised that as she catches she should have her weight on her right leg and then to push off that right leg to make the throw.

I love when ONE drill works on a multitude of skills and situations. Don’t you ⁉️

Started off with feet her feet crossing over when simulating a throw after fielding. As you can see, she was off balance and was basically moving away from her target if she were to actually throw the ball.

Instead, we worked on replacing her feet in order to gain ground to her target on her throws!

Had some trials and tribulations along the way but ended up with great results 🔥

What’s holding you back to be the difference maker on your team?

This phenomenal play on bases loaded saved potentially 2 runs that would’ve put their opponents in the lead. She did a great job of watched the ball all the way into her glove which requires great focus and hand-eye coordination.

Ask yourself if you want to be THAT person or someone who lives in mediocrity. I hope you choose wisely 😉

Catching balls like this requires a high level of visual focus which in turn allows our hands to be guided correctly to the ball 🥎

It’s not easy but it CAN be improved through the right training and repetition.

Another ball on the wall drill - grounders edition 🚨

First half of the video is simply just getting the grounders but staying pretty much stationary, while the second half of the video, the player must not only get the grounder but will set their feet for the throw as well.
