Heads up - According to weather reports we may experience freezing temperatures tonight/early morning. As a safeguard when you go to bed tonight you may want to turn your kitchen sink to a slow drip. If you are in full hookup be sure your grey water tank is open so that it does not overflow.

A few updates for the 2026 Season….

Seasonal campers may pull your campers in on Sunday April 12th 9am to 5pm. Otherwise beginning Monday 8am for the season. Gates will remain open after Monday for all seasonal campers.

Beginning Wednesday April 15th @ 8am the Campground opens to the public for the season. Some important updates this year.

1. We will not be offering dump services this year. The pump truck is in need of repair and due to its age we can not locate the parts to repair. Campers staying in water/electric sites weekly & monthly will need to plan accordingly. We will have information at the kiosk for various companies that offer pump out services. You will need to contact them directly. We also offer a dump station just outside the gate. Per DNR & Health Dept. regulations, you cannot dump any type of sewer or grey water on the ground at your campsite. Failure to abide by this rule could result in you being asked to leave the campground. The Health Dept. does assess fines, and those fines would be passed on to you. If you plan to stay long term we have plenty of full hookup sites available.

2. New this year we now offer Debit/credit card registration at your campsite using a QR Code. The QR codes are posted on your sites electrical box. There are fees assessed by the software company to use this service. You may still register and pay as in the past at the registration kiosk.

While in the Park if you need assistance please call the Camp host phone. The Camp host phone number is located on signs throughout the park. The Camp host phone will be shut off from 11:00pm to 8:00am each day. If you have an emergency, during that time and you need assistance please call 911.

Reminder - In the event there is a severe weather warning issued by Blackhawk County, the bathrooms as you enter the campground as well as the shower house will be opened for your use as storm shelters.

We look forward to warmer weather and a great camping season!

Campers,

Deerwood Campground will open on April 15 to all campers. Some have called City Hall reference the meeting at City Hall on Monday. That meeting is only for seasonal campers from last season that want to reclaim their site. If you were not a seasonal camper from last camping season you will be turned away and be asked to return on or after April 15th.

Site rentals have gone up due to increased water rates. See City of Evansdale website under Park and Recreation. Also a reminder of a new rule that was implemented last year, tent campers are limited to a maximum 14 consecutive night stay. You and everyone that was in your camping party are not allowed back to camp for 7 consecutive nights.

Again Mondays meeting is for last season seasonal campers only.

Campers who were seasonal last season!!! Today I sent an email to you if you have not responded to my first email that I sent last month. Please check both your inbox and junk mail and please respond to it.

Those of you who wish to have a seasonal spot I will not have a good indication of what sites are opened until after April 10th.
