Name desperately needed!
Ok, I really need a “Z” name! This little guy is not so little, he is almost three months old now! I have never had such a hard time finding a name that feels right! His mother is the Model Mare Zara SR by Odin SR and his sire is the Grand Prix dressage horse Guildenstern Sol. Both are pictured in the reel. He is someone’s future Grand Prix dressage horse so I need a name that will fit his future job!
About his personality… He has the most unique personality! If he was a little kid he would be the cute, precocious little boy with big glasses that would rather sit with the teacher and have a good chat than go out at recess. He is our youngest foal, so still the smallest, but that does not factor into his decision making. If he is getting his one-on-one time with any of his people and another foal comes up for their share of attention, he will pin his fuzzy little ears and let them know he is not ready to end his turn. He is quite bold. When I range the bell to bring them in for dinner last night, he was the first to gallop up, leading the other three foals, while the five mares moseyed up from the far end of the adjoining pasture, totally out of sight. Tonight after feeding he left his mother to head off with the group, without a backwards glance.
About his looks…I haven’t figured out if he is a black or dark bay yet but am kind of leaning towards a very dark bay. He has a great star and a super cool snip. Two front low whites. He is going to have the ultra thick and kind of wavy tail that his great grand dam Zophiel and grand dam Zahara SR had. It will be amazing. He has great articulation of his joints and will be a show-stopper. He already shows the presence that insures that people will stop what they are doing to watch him. His pedigree and his disposition suggest he will be agreeable and quite fun along that journey. He is refined and elegant so I don’t see any totally “burly” names like “Zeus” or “Zoro.” I had kind of settled on “Zander” until a German friend told me “absolutely not!” She then sent me a photo of a “Zander” which is a whole grilled fish on a skewer. Sigh.
So, if you have stuck with me this long, please help! He is too old to keep calling “Z baby!” He is too important to his future owner to not have a great name. My only current thought is Zapateado, but that is a little bit of a mouthful.

I should add that we have already used Zoltan, Zephyr, Ziven, Zhivago. Thanks!
