Got up and did a little fishing this morning. I wasn't expecting to catch much, and that would've been okay. I started out by catching a few 1lb-2lb fish. But little did I know I was going to break my PB bass on the new RD MICRO ROD this is the 5'9" Medium!! This rod did it job and some! I had to flip this fish over some thick grass! I didn't expect to land this fish. I only had a 15lb leader! Got it on the bank then got a few pics and let her swim off strong!

Day 2 fishing in Washington!

Jigging for Ling cod and Halibut!

The second day of fish was offshore about 50 miles, and officially, the furthest West Nikki Christiano and I have been! This trip was for habitat and ling cod! So on the 2 hour drive out to the fishing grounds, we saw orca and a Mola Mola (sunfish) got a little video of that. Stopped for some pictures and then on to the fishing grounds.

Got out there and start our drift. All six of us dropped, and it was on! Non-stop action. We're using electric reels because we're dropping in 400 plus ft of water! First, we got the limit on Ling Cod. My biggest Ling was around 25-30 pounds! What a fight! Nikki was pulling up doubles and triples all by herself! So proud of her. These are now the biggest fish she has caught by herself! So epic! This is all jig fishing, too. Something she has never done before!

What an awesome experience with the Batson family! Something that Nikki and I will never forget! Nikki didn't get sick on this trip woop woop!

Truly amazing people, and what a blessing.

The Batson family are the nicest people I've ever met and the relationship that I've built and building with them if for a lifetime.

Bill Batson, I truly can't thank you and your family enough for taking time from your extremely busy schedules to spend time with Nikki and I. This is truly special to me. I can put into words what this means to me. I know I said thank you at least 100 plus time to you, but it just means so much that I feel as if I can't say it enough.

Observe this exquisite custom-built Rainshadow RX7 SW967, designed to serve as a pier snook rod. The client specifically requested a blue paint job for the rod. Notably, the rod features Batson Enterprises components, complemented by Alps Guides and a reel seat. The cross wrap boasts a distinctive 4-axis chevron pattern. Crafting this rod was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I truly enjoy creating rods in this style. This particular rod is a Rainshadow SW967 designed for king mackerel fishing off the pier. We crafted the carbon fiber grips with silver leafing and added silver leafing to the guide feet. The rod features Alps Guides and an Alps reel seat. In sunlight, the rod is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, the photograph does not fully capture the beauty of this build.

It's an honor and pleasure to be able to build rods for our military. This beautiful rod was built for a disabled Army veteran who loves fishing the pier for king mackerel! The rod is built on a Rainshadow SW1087. We painted the rod wave blue and it features a Fuji reel seat and guides.

What an honor and pleasure it is to craft these exquisite rods for the Josie's Gift by Uncle D's non-profit organization. We meticulously painted and built three beautiful rods for them to raffle off at their tournament. This year, we created three woodgrain rods. The first is a travel spinning Rainshadow Revelation 7'2 M with carbon fiber grips and Alps guides. Rod 2 is a cast Rainshadow Revelation 7'2 M with carbon grips and Alps guides. The last but not least rod is a fly rod with carbon grips and Alps guides. We hope these rods bring numerous smiles and memories for the kids and families.
