Humboldt Bay entrance lower range light (green) is currently temporarily out of service. Currently there is a large crane barge anchored at this location replacing the range light and structure. This should be completed by Sept 9,2026.

There is a barge in the third channel of Humboldt Bay just south of the Samoa bridge.
It is a drill rig for the permitting process of the wind energy. It will be there for the rest of the week and it is well lit at night.

Received from the US Coast Guard, following the recent dredging and in anticipation for continued dredging. Please see below new locations of each buoy:



Humboldt Bay Lighted Bell Buoy 7 (LLNR 8185): 40-45-22.584N, 124-13-38.466W, 52 yards from charted position.



Humboldt Bay Lighted Bell Buoy 8 (LLNR 8190): 40-45-06.694N, 124-13-31.916W, 49 yards from charted position.



Humboldt Bay Lighted Buoy 9 (LLNR 8195.2): 40-45-26.904N, 124-13-26.143W, 54 yards from charted position.



Humboldt Bay Lighted Buoy 10 (LLNR 8200): 40-45-29.072N, 124-13-09.721W, 53 yards from charted position.



The new locations will be published in the Local Notice to Mariners later this morning.

The City of Eureka will try and remove mud and other debris from the Eureka boat ramp nearest the parking area Tuesday morning at 8:15 am (June 2nd). They plan on using a front-end loader and dump truck, and may use a fire hose as well.
