Academy of Irish Dance and Music

The Academy of Irish Dance and Music has offered instruction in Irish Dance since 1999, teaching traditional solo and set dances to students ranging from 5 years old to adults. Ceili and figure dancing are also taught. Through the Academy's affiliation with Yeates Academy of Irish Dance, our students are eligible to compete in local, regional, national, and World Irish Dance Competitions. Yeates A

cademy is registered with the Irish Dancing Commission, Dublin, Ireland. Currently, the Academy has dancers ranging from beginner to champion. Sinead Yeates T.C.R.G.(Accredited Teacher of Irish Dance) offers workshops at the Academy regularly. The Irish Company Dancers are the Academy’s performance troupes. Ranging from beginner to champion, the dancers have preformed at fairs, schools, church functions, care facilities, restaurants, clubs, weddings, parties, and numerous community events including the Blue Lake Folk Festival, the Morris Graves Museum of Arts, the West Haven Center for the Arts, the North Country Fair and medieval festivals. The performance troupe dancers are our core performers, however, dance students from all class levels are given an opportunity throughout the year culminating with our annual recital in June.
