Do you have a passion for our open spaces and beautiful forests and wetlands?

Join the City of Eureka for a volunteer cleanup day at Cooper Gulch Park! This event goes from 9am – 12pm on March 4th!

We will be removing various invasive species from Cooper Gulch. The more these invasive species are removed, the more opportunity plants native to the area can thrive! There will also be opportunities to pick up trash around the park.

This is a great chance to help make an impact in your community and eliminate various plants that are taking over. Many hands make for light work, the more the merrier!

For any questions about this event call 707-441-4080. If you are interested in starting your own volunteer event please follow the link below.

‼️ 20/30 Park Re-Naming - Vote for Your Favorite Name!
The results are in and we have 3 final names for you to vote on! Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2030park to cast your vote. The survey closes on October 24th.

⏩ Background: With the park slated to receive major upgrades, our community is rethinking this park’s identity and marking a new era for this neighborhood landmark. An overwhelming amount of responses from the first survey voiced a desire to have a Soulatluk name (Wiyot native language) for the park, and the Wiyot Tribe was kind enough to provide the best translation available for each proposed name. This final list of names is a result of a community survey where 75% of 250 survey respondents supported a new name and provided suggestions.

The 20/30 Club will be recognized through a plaque and interpretative signage to celebrate and honor their contributions to the history of this park.
