Cutting Edge Fencing Teaching the Olympic Sport of Fencing Put simply, if you want to fence, it doesn’t matter who you are, you have a place with the SabreCats.

At Cutting Edge Fencing, we don’t just accept differences — we celebrate, support, and nurture differences for the benefit of all in our community. Our mission is to bring the Olympic Sport of Fencing to as many people as we can in Tarrant County and to serve our member’s needs as whole people. To do that well, we have to be committed to including perspectives that vary by a broad set of measures,

including but not limited to, race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, educational background, marital and family status, neurodiversity, economic resources, national origin, physical capacity, previous athletic experience, and competitive fencing level. Cutting Edge Fencing will not tolerate discrimination based upon the above factors, any social identity category, or personal defining characteristic on the part of its staff, members, contractors, venue partners, spectators, or supporters. Cutting Edge Fencing will allocate resources to fostering equitable and inclusive participation for all athletes as well as growth opportunities for participants from diverse backgrounds.

Hello SabreCats,

It is with a profound mixture of joy and sadness that we send you this message today. Joy because Maestro David has accepted an offer to lead the Sabre program at the Atlantic Fencing Academy in New Jersey. It’s an exciting position with new professional challenges and an opportunity to find some financial stability after the struggles of the COVID pandemic.

And sadness because we will say goodbye to our SabreCat family. We have weathered so much together—changing club locations, the pandemic, and have developed new methods of training that sustained us during that challenging time. We are so grateful and appreciative of everyone who came through the pandemic with us and also for those who have joined us recently. You have kept the SabreCat spirit alive; thanks to you it will never be completely extinguished.

There will be no classes during Summer Nationals July 5 - July 12 (like all “normal” summers). The online calendar has been updated to reflect that. We will have regular class offerings on July 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21, and 22. If you have classes you have paid for and won’t be able to use by then, we will be giving prorated refunds on the class packages remaining after July 22nd.

Once you have used up your current class packs, don't worry about purchasing refills. Just come on in and get in one last practice with us.

It is hard to say goodbye to you; change is never easy. But we hope that you look back on your time at CEFC fondly in the years to come. As we go our separate ways, we will hold thoughts of you forever in our hearts. You have been a wonderful part of our lives and we hope we have been a positive light in yours.

Cutting Edge Fencing Center mourns the loss today of our good friend and colleague, Ali Khamis from COVID-19. Ali was a long time epee coach here in North Texas, and had been one of our good friends and partners in the NTFTC. He had recently returned to his native Egypt to coach epee in their Modern Pentathlon program.

Coach Khamis had a passion for the sport that was as intense as his dedication to his students and rivaled only by his capability as a coach. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, especially his daughters, Yasmine and Jenna. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had him be part of our extended fencing community.

COVID is still real folks and the pandemic is not yet over. Please continue to be careful and safe, especially as tournaments are restarting and travel is commencing.
