BMAI opened 38 years ago today under the simple name, “The Dojo.” It was the bold idea of this 24 year old kid who dropped a finger on a map and landed in Eugene. Trusting fate proved to be the right choice.

What a fabulous journey it’s been. Thank you to all who have supported the dojo and been a part of this amazing community. My hair might be fading away, but the love of the arts I teach, and the people I share them with, just continues to grow! ❤️

Yabusame is Traditional Japanese Archery from horseback. This was the first tournament ever held outside Japan, and it was AMAZING!

BMAI will have a booth and do demonstrations at the 41st Oregon Asian Celebration this Saturday at Alton Baker Park. The event runs from 10am - 9pm. Admission is FREE.
