Alan started his bicycle tour from Tucson, Arizona on April first, and is now well on his way to his final destination; Whitefish, Montana. He rode up along the coast and was particularly struck by the hills and wind at Big Sur.
At the shop this morning, Andy was able to replace Alan's front and rear disc brake pads so that Alan will be able to stop here and there along his tour to rest and whatnot.
A seasoned tourist, Alan shared that he has also ridden the length of the C and O canal and gap trails along the East Coast. He recalls a particularly trying section of downed trees he needed to heft his loaded bike over.
A total of four stem bags dangled from Alan's Jones bars, and an upcycled Colorado license plate tacked onto Alan's front rack serves to keep the mud off of him.
Thanks to Alan for visiting Arriving By Bike. We are located along the transamerica bike route and are set up to serve tourists and commuters along their travels by bike.
